    Hi guys.

Need some advice on whether I should upgrade a gpu.

    Current system is:

    Intel I7 7700k
    16 Gb ddr4 3200 Corsair Vengeance Ram
    Asus strix Geforce 1080 gtx
    1 x Samsung 960 evo nvme boot drive 500gb
1 x Seagate Baracuda 2 gb storage drive
3 x Western Digital usb3 external storage drive
    Logitech G700 mouse
    Razer Black Widow Chroma Keyboard
    Cooler Master V550 psu
    Asus Strix 270E mobo
    Coolermaster Nepton 120xl cpu cooler
    InWin 303 case
    3 x 120mm corsair case fans
Acer 144 mhz gsync monitor 1440p
    Second Dell 24 inch monitor

Was looking at the 2080 rtx but seems my psu won't handle so need advice on whether going with a 2070 is worth it or whether I am better skipping this gen.

Added the resolution now, its 1440p.
Psu extra cost on top of the gpu upgrade. Also more hassle as I tend to have to get the store to do my installations for me.

change cpu on 8086 plus decend ram doing 4200 and u will have +30percent boost, do not change card...

Well, I had, but I am playing 1080p so maybe in ur case will be not so much

CPU will hold fine unless he's hitting a CPU bottleneck. And at 1440p if that happens he´ll have more FPS than he´ll knows what to do with anyway.

IMO it's PSU+2080ti or it won't probably be much of an upgrade.

I guess 2080 would be an upgrade too, but good enough for a 800+€/$ card plus new PSU? Probably not

    Thanx for all the advise.

Regarding the psu. My choices seems to be:

    EVGA Super Nova 750W G2
    CorSair TX-M 750W

Which one would be a better choice? They are exact same price here.

In terms of the rtx 2080 is there is one I should be specifically looking at? or should I just go for the cheapest one. Brands that are easiest to stock of is Asus & MSI.

The evga PSU, I'd personally go 850w minimum for future though

Oh yea, PSU is must. Can only recommend EVGA g2/g3 750/850W as they have best results.
As for RTX, I would hold on. Too many dead/artifacting appears lately due low QA, so...I would wait.

And they RT is dead now, so...

Don't get a freaking 2080... the upgrade would be minimal... spend a bit more and get a 2080 ti, or don't upgrade at all...

For that amount of money it is ! 800 $ for 30% performance increase...

Spend a bit more and get a 70-80% performance increase instead...

After a bit more thinking I decided to take this advice.

Any recommendation on which 2080ti? My choices seem to be msi 2080ti duke oc, gigabyte windforce oc or msi ventus oc.

    Wait until next generation.

The EVGA PSU you listed should be good. Corsair has better than the TX line.. they re not bad, but more middle grade.

End up getting a msi gaming x trio and an evga g2 850w psu. So far I am very happy with it.
