Nvidia Geforce Hotfix Driver Version 416.64 - Download & Discussion

Discussion in 'Videocards - NVIDIA GeForce Drivers Section' started by Vidik, Oct 27, 2018.

  1. Clean install with DDU Uninstaller, but in Shadow of The Tomb Raider still have the same problem as in 416.34 version playing in DX12.

Randomly the game crashes to the screen with the error message :

    0x887A0006: DXGI_ERROR _DEVICE_HUNG

I'm very sad for this :(

Back to 416.34 , WOW for my system not good at all , used system restore to get things back to normal,
hot fix , more like hot mess.

Rise of the tomb raider was completely issue free and so was The Witcher 3 with 416.34 before trying 416.64

used DDU to install [all drivers ]416.34 back to the system, issues with both games didn't go away , ROTTR dx12 stuttered and fps drops, The Witcher black screen of death , used plan B!
i always make a restore point for this reason and others.

The empty C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver unpack folders are same as always since they started the cleanup.

These seem fine so far, run same as all other 39x/4xx drivers for me :)

  5. I've one Gigabyte RTX 2080 Ti Gaming OC. Maybe because it is overclocked ?

No its not the oc i think some guys reported the exact same problem on the Nvidia forum with the shadow of the tombraider as well, its probably driver related for them new cards.

  7. Fortunately the issue happens only 1/2 times in 2/3 hours of playing the game.

Yes, unless the card is defective overclock is where it's at when it comes to games crashing (unless we're talking about Bethesda games :p).

Is your CPU, your RAM also OCed? If so bump voltages, or load defaults.

  11. No, CPU (7700k) and ram working at clock/frequency default

If you are posting stuff like that, it would be helpful to mention why this driver is "not good at all" for your system. You don't have to use OSs restore point system to get back to an older driver version.

Don't have any games from the changelog installed to test fixes but driver works fine otherwise. Audio driver isn't signed and no c:/nvidia folder left over after install. Win 10 1809.

I'm going to stick to the 416.30 quadro drivers. They've been the best for my 2080ti and are completely issue free. I'll probably update after the next series of drivers comes out.

Make sure your pci connectors are seperate for the 8 pins. I was having the same problem.

For multirail PSU's yes. If the PSU is monorail, then not so much, assuming your cabling can handle the load.

  19. You mean the power cables of the card?
