Man, what are the odds of that, an Alleged AMD Radeon RX 590 has surfaced in the 3DMark results browser 24 hours prior to an NVIDIA RTX 2070 Embargo? The 12nm Polaris is gossipped to be released soon... AMD Radeon RX 590 Spotted in 3DMark?
hmm. Lets put some perspective here this RX590 can do graphics score 4759 (oops put the CPU score before lol) possibly stock speed A well tuned (downvolted) Vega 64 can do graphics score 8342, and out of the box the Vega 64 Nitro does graphics score 7536. In the mean time a GTX1080 @ 2190 does 8349 and out of the box graphics score 7834. (GTX1080 Armor).
2190 on a 1080? That can't be on stock cooling. Mine reached its stability limits at 2170 when i had a hybrid AC cooler on it. There must be more to this story. Custom cooled perhaps?
i seriously doubt this particular "leak". 12nm Polaris is coming (like winter), but i'm hoping for upgraded components as well as the shrunken die.
Yeah, it looks like the CPU score was 7402... I wonder if these "new" cards / SKU are actually RX 580's with a better cooler / power delivery and a new BIOS for OC? AMD and Nvidia both overproduced GPUs during the crypto boom between 2017 and the first half of this year. Nvidia decided to price new cards higher to keep selling the old ones, maybe AMD is trying to get rid of these chips with slightly tweaked new model to drive some interest.
Bad. 2000MHz on memory. That means it is not GDDR6 as that would be at most 1800MHz. And it is not GDDR5X either for similar reason. This means clock boost here is not actually bringing much extra over ~1400 MHz RX-580. Unless they improved IMC. nVidia's IMC for GDDR5 does better than AMD's. So there is space for improvement. So it is noce that it can do 1550MHz, but it will be about users tweaking their memory.
AMD didn't overproduce like Nvidia. the non-mining cards hit the market as they should have in the first place. the "new" cards are a refresh gpu built at 12nm, which by itself will improve clocks and power - so they'll outperform rx580/570. the RX680 will be a hit. the so-called RX 590 is either a fake or a repackaged RX 580 for a specific market.
Rebrandeon goes strong once again. LMAO. Since 290X we are talking about the same performance in this segment (then 390X=480=580=590). And now fury was the same with vega. Are they really innovating? Trolladeon FTW. I can't believe these guys. I can see why those with money always buy nvidia. It is clear now. No excuses for poor rebellion. Not anymore.
yikes dude. fanboy much? i have two 10xx Nvidia cards, so i'm not a hater. i also have an RX580 in my office as that is all it needs there. 1) R290x was a completely different architecture than RX 480 2) R290x was a higher end card than the RX 480...and is still usable today at 1080p 3) your opinions are o.k., but they are factually divorced from reality as far as GPU's are concerned.
yes it would be both a refresh and a process shrink. in many ways ideal as it's proven architecture on a proven node, and just using the smaller node lowers cost (more dies per wafer), improves power efficiency, and increases the clock speed. win, win , win. perfect for the aspiring gamer on a budget or for a console killer
I respect your disagreement. But we are supposed to get a meaningful performance jump here and there. Tell me these last years, when AMD provided that? I see only clock differences, memory changes and driver improvements. Nothing more. GPUs aforementioned are the same clock per clock.
and yes 12nm is confirmed and it's in production atm. idk about final pricing or how large they'll build the pre-release inventory. i just know the first shipments to AIB's is due shortly.
the RX480 came into market for far less money than the R290x. the fact that a less expensive card delivered similar clocks is usually called an improvement. furthermore, as AMD has sold out production for the last 5 years they are doing fine and are delivering products that people want. just not you and you should be fine with that. and really, imho you have no idea what's actually going on. i have well informed ideas, hunches, and a few guesses based on my experience in the industry, knowledge of engineers, industrial level electronics and being native to Silicon Valley but i don't really know for any ironclad facts.
Fixed. After all, it's got to be a clear case of introducing the same basic design to two different markets. Now that's win, win. You couldn't make it up. p.s. If it is a 590, then going on convention it would have to be a dual GPU card, which would suggest crossfire being disabled/inactive for those tests.
Yes. The MSI armor with EK waterblock on a predator 360. Yup. https://www.3dmark.com/spy/4696937 Downvolted Nitro.
Who cares about people with money,? Yes, there is a small part of gamers who buy the high-end cards of current generations. But even the second strongest 1080 has its same performance AMD counter in Vega64. Vega56 in general easily beats 1070, and if you check recent games, it's even par with the 1070Ti. And check the mid section. RX480-580-GTX1060. Former has +2GB VRAM, a bit faster and its 20-30$ cheaper. In normal circumstances, more people would choose these cards. But when you get "buy Intel and NV" in the media or from dealers, it's hard to say the other. +1
