[OFFICIAL] Windows 10 RS5 - BUILD 17763.107 - RTM

So nobody is noticing their files disappearing in the Downloads folder after upgrading to RS5?

 

Not that I can tell.

 

Update went smooth for me.Had to re-install 3dmark as futuremark sys info service refused to detect my hardware.

 

Just downloaded the iso image using MediaCreationTool1809.
For anyone that has it installed already has there been a day one update or is the build number still 17763.1.
Thinking of doing a clean install not upgrading through WU but i might wait for Nvidias next WDDM 2.5 drivers.

 

Still 17763.1, WU says no new updates.

Im downloading from the assistant tool..

 

Saw this come up on windows update. Blocked it with wushowide. I'm gonna take a while to try it on a seperate partition and if it's not a mess, clean install.

To be honest I might stick with 1806 for a while since I have no issues. Is there any advantage to upgrading? Does dlss need 1809?

Also putting this here for people who want to get the iso through a better method.

It's a feature, not a bug
Solution is to disable Storage Sense or to move the Downloads folder from C:\ to another drive.

EDIT: just noticed there is a Downloads check box under Disk Cleanup as well. It says it uses around 5MB but won't actually clean up at all. Don't know where it points to though, as I don't have my Download folder on C:\ anyway.

 

I update through Assistant Tool, everything went fine...after that i Run the build it Storage Cleaner.

 

I advice to reset any undervolting on gpu and cpu if you are using any software like throttlestop or afterburner beacause it can lead you to be unable to instal rs5. I had this problem when I was updating from rs3 to rs4. I reset undervolting and the update went fine. After update I brought back undervolting

Now that the Windows 10 October update is out - Is this the exact same version? Do I need to do anything?

Early adopters from Fast and Slow ring got the Season Pass for 1809 for free, plus some DLC add-ons.

 

Windows Update just started downloading it.

 

It's the same. Just did the install (non clean, I know) via windows update on my work pc and it's showing 17763.1 as the windows version.

 

So we had the DX updates all along?

 

Was the ability to disable prefetch (and superfetch) via services removed? Anyway disabled it through my registry, problem solved, just seems strange.

 

no, they just renamed a few services, look for sysmain

 

Weird thing I noticed is that it went from Slow Ring straight to RTM; they skipped the RC channel.
