Hey all! I have downloaded the newest Notebook drivers, modded the "nvdispi.inf" file to include my GPU, which is a GTX675m. None of the drivers after 391.35 seemed to work, the installer was failing to detect my GPU, guess because NVIDIA has dropped support for them. So, what I did was, I added these lines in the "[NVIDIA_Devices.NTamd64.10.0]" and the "[NVIDIA_Devices.NTamd64.10.0...16299]" sections: %NVIDIA_DEV.1212% = Section102, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1212 And added this line at the end of the INF: NVIDIA_DEV.1212 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675M" I disabled the driver signature enforcement in Windows 10, rebooted to "Test Mode", and installed the driver. Everything was fine, the Setup detected my GPU, went on with the install, however after completion, I had the following error: The Driver wasn't starting up, and in the Device Manager, it said Error Code 43, Windows has stopped the driver, because it was reporting errors. Any ideas? It'd be greatly appreciated. Kind Regards.
These drivers are for you: https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/quadro-392-00-whql-support-fermi.422872/
Not recommended, not having WDDM 2.0 means you miss some extras of the new Win 10 editions, like Task Manager monitoring of the GPU and improved memory management.
Nvidia has said Fermi will just get security fixes, and it hasn't gotten a new driver since it went Legacy. I wouldn't be surprised if Nvidia releases an official Legacy driver for Win10 1809 though.
388.00 are the last drivers to actually have WDDM 2.1 support for Fermi so those until new release will reenable WDDM 2+ (unlikely).
The 391.35 drivers report WDDM 2.3 for my GT 610 (desktop model). Have you tested yourself if the Quadro drivers referenced above doesn't report WDDM 2.0 or higher? TC's images in that thread shows he's using Win8.1, which doesn't support higher than WDDM 1.3
Yes I did test both the Quadro and the 391.35 and they show WDDM 1.3 on my Win10 laptop with 525M. Maybe there's a conflict with the iGPU. I only noticed that because the GPU tab in my Task Manager was gone as the game performance is basically not relevant anymore.
It is very unlikely that drivers released almost a year later will support an earlier WDDM version. In your specific case i'm sure it's a conflict with your IGPU because I remember very well seeing when I used them that they use WDDM 2.3.
