Once it hits the slow ring that should all but confirm it as long as 17764 or higher does not pop up on the fast ring and once it then hits the release candidate ring it's confirmed but that's usually fairly close to the actual release date as I remember.
And Microsoft usually doesn't outright state if it's the RTM build or not but a cumulative update could still count for continued development and that will be how the last remaining issues are fixed unless something critical pops up again.

Yea it's the same story every release, they swear blind it is not the final build on social media, then a week later it is signed-off as gold

17764 only appeared for a brief time on buildfeed then was removed, so no idea what that was all about, I haven't included a build in the thread title this time so doesn't really matter which build is final for this thread, I can edit the OP with it once we know

    Pretty much the same still

    Skip Ahead = Alpha/Untested
    Fast ring = Alpha / Possibly buggy/unstable
Slow ring = Beta / Moved here from Fast ring when testing shows it is stable enough
    Release preview ring = RC

Does anyone know whether this latest version of Windows 10 has a new WDDM? If I'm not mistaken, we're currently on WDDM 2.4, which means RS5 could have WDDM 2.5.

This is probably some kind of mental disorder but I freaking love installing new drivers and OS versions:D I dunno why is it so exciting even if I know it brings nothing radically new.

It always feels good to get something new (be it for good or for worse) but this time I will give it at least 30 days to mature before I make the upgrade.

I hope not... every time Microsoft update WDDM then it breaks something with G-SYNC and windowed games which then takes month for them and NVIDIA to fix!

Anyway, I'm going to wait this one out not least because I currently only have 9 GB free on my C drive, thanks to the Store pre-loading Forza Horizon 4 on it rather than my D drive! Daren't uninstall it until the game releases next Friday, 28th as it is the Ultimate Edition and I may lose the early access. I don't Microsoft to anything right when it comes to the Store!!!

So this is presumably the same that Microsoft will roll out one week in advance if you use the Win10 Upgrade Assistant?

Been thinking about that too. We do know that the update is supposed to enable DXR by default instead of requiring experimental mode.
I just saw that wikipedia has been updated with information what each WDDM version since 2.1 has brought, hadn't found anything about that before. It also claims WDDM 2.5 is there for Win10 1809.

Well FM running, this friggen kills dead BIOS overclocking on my board and, unlike with RS4, there is no KB to remove to revert the patch. Moronic.

Word is this is official. I also found a work around for the friggen microcde issue. Took ownership of the mcupdate_genuineintel.dll file renamed it and replaced it with a copy from July. Baaaaaazing back in operation.

Everything is pointing to this being the final build but you know MS, anything could happen

If it reaches RP ring you can be sure this is the one, so far it's in fast and slow

Yep, I even made a thread for 17133 RTM and then they found a bug or something and released 17134 as it instead lol

^^ This is the source of dark explorer flashing white when opening or maximizing, it's not even dark. They almost certainly added this in hurriedly because Apple added a dark mode for MacOS. Good for nothing fools.

Dammit Extra I was about to post it with the same shot and almost looked silly :p
