    It keeps less bloat on your system, less unnecessary processes run in the background which in result positively impacts latency and overall performance.

    Short answer - Yes, it does improve performance. By what margin, that really depends on your system and rig.
    For me, even 0.5% is already an improvement.

    Besides Geforce Experience Instant Replay feature is known to "eat" up some fps across the board.

    Had my first GPU crash with these drivers. Was playing a game and got a lock up then crash to desktop. Never happened before and have played the game (Post Scriptum) and others for a long time. Installed these, started playing and within 45 mins or so this happened. Reverted back to 398.98 and no problems. Bummer. Oh, using 1080ti 8700k and latest Win10 64

    Sorry to hear that, all stable here. Has to be something on your side, have you pre-cleaned using DDU before installing a new driver?

    Besides sounds more like an unstable overclock if it locks up. The clean driver is same 399.24 driver, without the additional bloat added to it. Core driver files are untouched, hence why I exclude this as being the cause.

    I did not use DDU. Perhaps I will try that. I've always just used the built in clean install feature within the drivers and followed the install up with a express install again after a reboot. I dont recall having this CTD. My overclock is minor and conservative and to my recollection not changed across previous drivers. Perhaps it is me or perhaps it is something in the 399.28 driver itself. Likely its on my end I suppose however, as I stated, this is the first occurrence using these drivers and shortly after the install. Now that Im back to 398.98, with the same OC settings, Im running with no problems.

    Thanks for the advice however. I will look into it. Oh and thanks for the clean versions and your related efforts for us all.

    In the first post there is a guide on how you can clean a driver by yourself, can be applied to any driver. Test it out.

    Thank you for this. Personally, I cleaned a different driver version, just trying out different drivers to find a good one for my usage. Your tutorial helped me to clean my own driver and get rid off the bloatware! Appreciate it!

    I think it is good to share this link with the people who need to compromise 'the clean state' with Geforce Experience. A little trick to bypass the forced login and telemetry. It is not ideal because GFE still needs those services running in the background though.

    Thank you for sharing @ciceros , updated first post with this little tweak.

    Will be handy for those especially that will have to use GFE for their RTX cards.

    There are a few extra folders in 411.63:

    NGXCore
    NvAbHub
    PPC (probably USB type C, contains: "USBC.nvi")

    NGX is the new API through which you can access tensor cores on Volta and Turing.
    The other two are likely related to VirtualLink output.

    Neural Graphics Framework (NGX) -> DLSS-Profile Updater (if you donĀ“t use GFE)
    PPC -> USB-C HDMI Driver
    NvAbHub -> GFE Component

    @Cyris
    That you for clarifying those up. Seems that PPC is a new keeper.

    Ok tested, works. Uploading new clean versions in 10-15mins.

    Btw, for Win 7/8/8.1 instead of PPC folder, we have Miracast.VirtualAudio.

    Since 399 i get the error Nvidia installer cannot continue. The standard nvidia graphics driver is not compatible with this version of Windows. Please update your drivers using GEFORCE Experience to download the correct drivers.

    I have used DDU for many years (and it still works fine Win10 defaults to 398.36), I uninstall and attempt to install your clean versions (since 399.x) or the normal nvidia package and i get the error. If i install with Geforce experience, it works. I have a 1080TI, X99 system and am on Win10 Pro 1803 Build 17134.286. . Any suggestions, I have been reading/googling for a few weeks with no real answers yet.
