Nice for an early 2017 benchmark...

We all know that AMD's GPU's has the horsepower if the Devs choose to use it.

tested with friends in 4k at maximum settings. Vega goes forward only at lower resolutions.

No vega 64, no gtx 1070, no gtx 1070ti.
Vega 56 only 3 fps slower than gtx1080. I can't get what you are saying.

Willing to bet my Vega64 will smash that 1080. To try to compare the Vega64 to the 1080Ti when it's quite definitely not a direct comparison is disingenuous at best, falsifying results at worst. Vega64 both Air and Liquid are positioned to be parallel to the GTX 1080. Vega56 to the GTX1070 and 1070Ti to some extent.

Downloading it now, will post results once complete.

Lies, Vega 64 on average in EU costs 500-600 euro.

    @korn87 Vega 56 isn't Vega 64.

Considering the lead platform is AMD based X box this isn't really surprising. If anything it's impressive Nvidia being this close.

Anyway compare when Nvidia release game ready drivers.

Good to see AMD can finally compete with a two and a half year old GPU that’s literally being replaced in a matter of days.

Navi needs to be something special, they’re slipping to far back at this point.

Been competing just fine for a year now. Oddly seeing that DX12 is starting to come forth in proper support, it'll likely last quite a bit better than a GTX1080. Of course there's edge cases for each but your comment is more than a little ignorant or fanboish, take your pick.

What about the 1080ti and 2080ti in these benchmarks?

I’ll take ignorance, I’ll happily use whatever brand can give me the best frame rates possible, I just want some decent high end cards from AMD that can compete with the likes of the 2080Ti, this domination in the high end segment by Nvidia isn’t healthy for the market at all.

In hindsight my comments probably should of been reserved for a different thread.

It's not like anyone is saying Vega is beating 1080Ti's, I have one and it definitely doesn't stack up alongside them. If you want ultimate FPS currently 1080Ti is the card to have or the upcoming 2080Ti. Though it's questionable on the value of the 2080Ti, the 1080Ti clearly kicks Vega's butt.

The good thing for Vega owners and even RX4xx/5xx owners is that DX12 games that are built to take full advantage of the API are going to see a boost. This isn't a slight on Nvidia though a lot of those invested in Nvidia products may feel that's the case. It's more that the design choices by AMD when designing their products are now getting a benefit from the switch to the new API.

This could also happen with the RTX 2xxx series though I feel that they will just suffer in being unable to fully utilise the RTX tech at reasonable FPS and in the future the latter series cards will do it better.

AMD takes the lead at twice the wattage, but I get it, we want to have some good GPU news once in a while, heck I would be the 1st to ask for it.

Let's just hope they can come back and compete with Nvidia's GTX 1000 & RTX 2000 series at the same wattage, because my RX580 is not aging well.

Also my new favorite UE4 based racing sim is very demanding (also CPU intensive) and I reckon a GTX 1080 or faster should do the trick.
