Thank you my old friend , this multicore cpus need very good cooling to shine as they will produce massive amounts of heat. * remember in the old days when we were overclocking the same motherboard Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3 LGA 775 and we share settings all the time , good old Core 2 Duo days * I wrote an overclocking guide for that board here at the forum back in 2007 ( lol 11 years ago ) but i cannot find it :/ . Good to see you still around my good friend , take care W@w@Y
As above great result @chispy, my 5960X I think will do at 4.5Ghz around 1795CB points that's with 96GB 2133MHz RAM,friend 8700k will do around 1700CB at 5.1GHz But still great result @chispy, what are temperatures with such voltage under load? Hope this helps Thanks, Jura
Hi Jura this was run at subsero temperatures -21c on my water chiller. This is old score i got better ones for hwbot.
Any of you guys notice that certain running apps produce lower Cinebench scores? I noticed if Steam, Origin, Afterburner etc are running my score dips to 1800ish I wonder if this performance dive is true for real world rendering apps as well? As I do render vray for sketchup from time to time. hence me choosing a 7820x over an 8700k when I built my system last year
Hi there Personally running in background Afterburner, HWiNFO, SIV64 and Aquasuite and never investigated if render times would be faster or slower with these applications shut down I do as well use V-RAY in 3DS Max or in C4D and can do few tests with applications shut down and with these applications running although I still use more and more AMD ProRender with Corona Renderer, which are in many cases faster or similar fast as V-RAY I will do few tests later on in Cycles and Octane or SuperFly and will see if render times would be affected Hope this helps Thanks, Jura
Hi @chispy Can you do Corona Renderer benchmark with yours OC, current and this one there, I would be very appreciated for that Hope this helps Thanks, Jura
Hi @jura11 , i think i will fire up my water chiller today for some testing and will run that benchmark for you, will post here the results for you. Kind regards: Angelo
Hola my friend indeed they do fly but only when cooled well , this run was made on my water chiller at sub sero temps. of -21c since normal water cooling or air cooling cannot cool this thing at this clocks. Benchmarks for fun is what i do
Visualization of getting a 6c 12t cpu from 5.0 GHz and sloppy timings to 5.1 GHz and better timings on air cooling. Could do 5.2 GHz (maybe more?) but the D15 simply can't keep up without a delid. Too bad I've sworn off water. Also this RAM sucks. Still happy with that result.
Win 10 Pro for Workstations | 3390x @ 4.13GHz all core | 256GB @ 3200 (4) 2080 Ti FTW3 Ultra's, everything on one custom loop. =P
Water temp is lower than ambient due to ambient sensor is in chassis, external radiator is sitting by A/C vent.
This is an old version of CB, so why is it popular? not only here but on other OC forums. 20.60 not good enough is it?
