Logitech G, a brand of Logitech, today announced the Logitech G502 HERO Gaming Mouse, an upgraded version of the iconic Logitech G502 Gaming Mouse. ... Logitech G502 Gaming Mouse Receives an Upgrade
The sensor was already perfect. Not sure why this one is... more perfect than perfect. The only thing to add to the sensor that would be a real enhancement would be support for higher polling rates (USB 3 supports that, I think?), which are useful for 240Hz monitors. Not for input lag or anything (it's already ultra-low at 1000Hz), but for the frame rate / refresh rate aliasing effect you can get that can sometimes result in some tiny microstutter if you look really closely. But other than that, more of the same. Which is fine. It was a good mouse to begin with. But it's not an upgrade for people who already own a 502.
It'd be awesome if it got a working left click. I had two and both left clicks would stick to my finger no matter how dry it was, spring back, and make an obnoxious loud "boing" sound like a spring. After looking into it, both the original Core version and the new Spectrum version could have that issue.
Both buttons do that for me. Didn't notice it. Until now. And now I can't un-notice it. So, thanks for that
So... the new version costs 80$ MSRP? Was it always that expansive, or did they just up the price? I bought tow of those mice for less than 50€ each....
Yes, they are usually that expensive, but also they are on sale a lot. Average price for the g502 Proteus Spectrum RGB on amazon in the uk is £52, I paid £35 in lightning deal.
Ordered the Logitech Wireless G Pro instead because I’m a lefty and I also hate having huge gaps along the top of my mouse. That crap’s uncomfortable
Logitech wants to get rid of its dependency on Pixart (old avago) Sensors and the licensing costs. Hero sensor has been somewhat (incremental releases) upgraded over time. Also the energy consumption on the G Pro Wireless (just got it last week) is mindbogglingly efficient. And yes USB 3.0 supports higher polling rates, up to 8Khz in fact.
When I searched for g502 hero, I got 1 unrelated result. I searched for plain G502 and got loads of results (thats how I found this thread). I tried g502 hero again and got zero results. ? Something is broken.
