    There's intermittent lag/stutter when watching youtube, vlc videos and streams while browsing through your files, folders and moving around your windows on your desktop, but as soon as you stop watching (as in closing the application) it will go away and return back to normal. It's extremely frustrating now that I've got a 144hz monitor and feels like you drop below 30hz during that time.

    its so nice of amd to automatically install the telemetry software. didnt see any message in the installer saying it was going to be installed.

    but at lest they gave option to shut it down in the adrenalin software

    which by they way..
    did they misspell adrenaline on purpose?

    edit:
    guess it can be spelled both ways...

    On the driver setup, in the first screen where you have a checkbox, that one is for installing telemetry. It's not a "I've read and agree with the EULA to proceed driver installation" checkbox, so it should be left unticked. It's easy to install telemetry by mistake if you're distracted.

    Next up game wise would be Dragon Quest XI on Unreal Engine 4 but that's early September so ~2 weeks roughly and following that Shadow of the Tomb Raider and that will probably see AMD have a support driver available but it comes out on the 14th so a bit further out and something for 18.9.1 perhaps depending on how closely they've worked with the developers of the game pre-release, probably also a question of how much GameWorks and the NVIDIA support means for as how AMD can get done in time for the games release. :)

    I doubt they're outright sabotaging and blocking for one another but you never know, both AMD and NVIDIA have accused one another of not giving access to the other vendor for game support and getting early driver support in and ready for the titles release but that was a few years ago.

    Wouldn't mind another driver release though, 18.8.2 and fixing some known issues perhaps but eh might just be wishful thinking ahead of 18.9.1 and support for what the next big title might be which well probably Shadow of the Tomb Slayer. :p
    (Because the action and body count is so ridiculously over the top now ha ha!)

    Ah I overlooked the F1 game which usually sees driver support and PES is probably also quite anticipated among football / soccer gaming fans and I had missed Strange Brigade being supported by AMD too. :)

    That certainly increases the likelihood of a driver release, the F1 games in particular are usually showcased in benchmarks and has driver support early from both AMD and NVIDIA and if there's a AMD supported game coming out that's likely to also have a high chance of a newer driver release accompanying it to ensure performance is as good as it can be.

    EDIT: And it's by Rebellion so they also have close ties to AMD already.

    As a sim racer I'm disappointed by the delayed driver updates (my biggest gripe with AMD) and more specifically as already mentioned a game ready F1 2018 driver.

    We all know it's coming sooner or later, but I just think it sets a bad precedence (now that the game has been released) and I'm seriously worried about the ACC release.

    Does the 18.8.1 have game-breaking bugs? Showstoppers?
    Does the game run badly on the 18.8.1 ?

    PES needs major work, game is locked at 37fps in full screen and runs in slow motion.

    Strange Brigade driver.
    https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/release-notes/rn-rad-win-strangebrigade

    Dated August 20th.
    (18.8.1 re-release is dated August 17th.)

    And there's a updated 18.Q3 driver from August 10th for mobile chipset now called 18.Q3.1
    https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/release-notes/rn-pro-win-18-q3-1

    And 18.30 for Linux.
    https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/release-notes/rn-prorad-lin-18-30

    Seems the KB's are in order now with the latest at the very back, reversed would be nice but eh it's listed somewhat more organized at least.

    Poor optimization as always from the devs of the game.

    I dont think Radeon team can to miracles on this.

    -

    @JonasBeckman this is for the Early Access adaptors of the game (reviewers/streamers)
    probably a proper driver next week.

    Pfft ah that last post I made might as well have been a new topic perhaps since the SB drivers are even noted as 18.8.2 although early access which I don't know but i guess it's the drivers that refers to, not the game.

    EDIT: Ah I see. :)
    So for now the driver version is up from 18.30.01.01 to 18.30.11.01
    or 24.20.13001.1010 to 24.20.13011.1004

    And the game is using Vulkan? Interesting.

    Known issues:
    (Release notes just mentions having support for the game.)

    Improved Vulkan support for the game then? Wonder what else is in there.

    EDIT:

    Atiapfxx.exe -r -sys -s test.xml and then atiapfxx.blb is copied and turned into test.xml

    Compared against 18.8.1 and what's new here?

    Well this section is new.

    And this for a profile a bit further down.

    And then Crossfire profiles and these flags found in the next section.

    Quake Champions
    PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds
    Far Cry 5
    Sea of Thieves
    Kingdom Come Deliverance
    Need for Speed Payback

    So nothing added but some profiles got updated.

    DXX comes after that.

    Notch Builder

    This one was updated.

    Ni Shui Han
    Call Of Duty Black Ops4

    These two were added.

    After that OpenGL.

    <profile Area="OGL" Usage="Modo11Profile">
    <value Property="OpenGLCaps">0x00008000</value>
    <value Property="OpenGLCapsEx">0x00040000</value>
    <value Property="OpenGLCapsEx3">0x02000000</value>

    <profile Area="OGL" Usage="XenDesktopProfile">
    <value Property="LowMemoryCaps">0x00000040</value>
    </profile>

    Last part of OpenGLCapsEx3 was added to the first profile, second profile is new.

    And then after that there's the HighPerfGPUAffinity flags for games.

    Nothing has changed here but the order for Assassin's Creed Odyssey has been altered so it's a bit lower down the profiles list doesn't really mean anything. :)

    Fortnite had a profile added here though so that's new.

    And then exe names and profiles again after that.

    OpenCL benchmark then? Newer version maybe and has some profile additions to it.
    (Restricting speeds? Hmm not sure.)

    And then the exe names for Ni Shui Han and Call of Duty Black Ops 4
    <application Title="Ni Shui Han" File="GacRunnerNG.exe">
    <use Area="DXX">Ni Shui HanProfile</use>
    </application>

    <application Title="CallOfDutyBlackOps4" File="BlackOps4.exe">
    <use Area="DXX">CallOfDutyBlackOps4Profile</use>
    </application>
    <application Title="CallOfDutyBlackOps4" File="cod_ShipDX11.exe">
    <use Area="DXX">CallOfDutyBlackOps4Profile</use>
    </application>

    And OpenGL

    <application Title="XenDesktop" File="CtxGfx.exe">
    <use Area="OGL">XenDesktopProfile</use>
    </application>

    And OpenCL where this has been removed.

    Probably using the above entry instead and the PPLIB additions. :)
    (PowerPlay library? Eh probably something along those lines, maybe.)

    EDIT: Yeah the Vulkan drivers are newer.

    9.2.10.49 instead of 9.2.10.45 found in 18.8.1 although the runtime in the installer is using 1.1.77.0 instead of 1.1.81.0 though it's also available for download separately now. :)
    https://vulkan.lunarg.com/sdk/home#windows
    (1.1.82.1)

    I'll wait with installing the drivers myself but yeah it's looking likely that a end of the month 18.8.2 driver should come out next week. :)
    (There's already this early access / beta driver for initial support or improved support for Strange Brigade and what looks like it's Vulkan mode but not entirely without a few known issues at least for this driver release.)

    EDIT: Strange BRIGADE

    What's a Bridage anyway. :p
