Power efficiency only matters when Intel or Nvidia are winning .

Idk i am sceptical with these specs, 4.7GHz on 8 cores and 95w TDP on coffee lake???? error does not compute, 130w TDP maybe, then theres the limtied SKU's very much doubt Intel has near perfect yields. having 2 extra cores, higher clock speeds and some how managed to keep the power limit to the same as a 6 core with lower clocks, all on the same process node and architecture, these cores must just be sipping power then to meet that. Each of the core voltages would have to be atleast 33% lower to fit the TDP which is a process node shrink to 10nm, on 14nm it's not even believable.

Well to sum it up AMD is in serious trouble.

Intel strikes back and Nvidia plays alone.

I strongly believe it is time that gpu and cpu departments must follow different employers.

It never worked fully for customer's shake.

All it remains is if a 2800X 10c/20t zen+ exists to keep game going. For now 9900K is KING.

Serious trouble? That's not what their earnings say - Q2 was release today and revenue rose 53% YoY to their highest level in seven years. I just made a truckload of money today :D

AMD does not need to rush out a 2800X to combat the 9900K, not with Zen 2 on schedule for next year. Intel may be flexing their manufacturing muscle with 14nm++, but the real battle is against the upcoming 7nm Zen 2, and that'll be a far more difficult battle. It's likely that the 9th gen will be the last time that Intel has a fab advantage so it's no surprise that they're making it count.

i have a very strong feeling that the 8 core no HT in multi-threaded scenarios might be way too close to the 6 core ht in performance , also the rumor that intel might be soldering their 9 series ..... i guess they have to rise clocks a bit more and keep thermals in check so the poor guys have to spend few more penies per cpu , i guess they can live with ""microcracks""

for now is unreleased .... and remain to be seen if it will be token ring or mesh interconnection if it is token ring yes most likely will be the gaming king ... if is mesh ... the 8700k will remain the gaming king

No Bob. For Now Potato CPU from Portal is the Queen! It is real, you just can't buy it same way as you can't buy 9900K.
Or maybe Via C-7750KE (King's Edition) is the King for next 20 years, since it will be released in 20 years. What kind of derangement is required to say: "Best thing out there, is that one thing, which is not out there?"

Yes, I think performance will be very close between 8700K (HT) and 9700K (non HT) when it comes to multi-threaded 'production' workloads, but I think 9700K will be a better gaming CPU. 8 real cores without HT and connected with a ring bus (pretty sure will be ring) is probably the absolute ideal setup for a gaming CPU for today's & "tomorrow's" games. HT has been shown to slow down some games, but HT does help if you don't have enough real cores to cover the gaming load - ie 2core/4thread CPUs way better than 2core/2thread CPUs for gaming, same is true for 4 core CPUs; however, when you get up into the 6 & 8 real core realm is when hyperthreading is gonna have less of a positive impact on gaming.
For gaming I think the i7-9700K without HT is gonna be the gaming king - I actually predict it will outperform the 9900K in gaming workloads when both are overclocked to their max (same) frequency. 8 real cores is more than enough for gaming & HT only helps if you don't have enough real cores.

HT adds between 25 and 35% over regular Full Core. So, 8C vs 6C/12T is like 8C vs 7.5~8.1C depending on instructions used.
Then this performance degradation. It applies only when following 2 conditions are met:
    - OS does not prefer full cored for scheduling
    - Application is not SMT aware/coded to benefit from it

Because there were quite a few games in past specifically coded for HT and they did benefit even more than 35%. But they were mostly Unreal Engine based.

And apparently there are tools that user can find quite useful for games where SMT would cause troubles. And in general, I would not advise anyone to take real 8C over 6C/12T even if benefit may be questionable at times. That's because even OSes are now SMT aware and over lifespan of such 6C/12T or 8C, quite more software will benefit.

We're not in 2003 anymore and intel knew what they were doing when they brought it back. So, I really wonder if they know what they are doing with just 8C. Or maybe it is just fake information and 8C will not come.

Can you list those games where Ryzen is limiting factor which prevents adequate GPU going above 100fps?
I mean, last monkey which claimed this for Overwatch... And I had 250~290fps in real match and 320~360fps in test arena.

Once more. List the games based on which you call Ryzen CPU suitable for 60Hz gaming and unsuitable for 100fps+ gaming.

Exactly...... one needs to also factor in the price of games, which is the primary reason most build these type of computers.

Also, the vast majority do not need such expensive hardware to enjoy gaming. Who cares and bragging rights?

Well, one thing's for sure, it's not worth "upgrading" from 8700K to 9700K, they're gonna be pretty much equal!

So, game where stock 1800X delivers minimum 101fps and average 152 is proof that 1800X is not suitable for people wanting 100fps+ ?

Can you and your AMD zealotry just stay out of Intel threads please.

You prefer AMD, we get it

Not everyone else does and you are not changing anyone's mind, if anything, people like you make me steer clear of trying AMD again.

(I know I have posted this video before but some people seem to have a serious problem accepting the fact that their opinion is not the only opinion).

Go from 1st page and read, If I am the one who is escalating this intel vs AMD postings. or if I am simply reacting to absolute BS statements.
Like, did you even read my post you quoted? Don't you see that absurdity @nizzen came with? Is it beyond your comprehension? It surely was beyond his since he posted it.
