From gtx 200 up to gtx 1000 all numbers used for the series. It is more likely to continue with this scheme. Perhaps after a decade gtx2000 series will bring something different from today's gpus. Well, let's see.

I'm just waiting for rumors of the next XX80 Ti model. Or, since I do have the 6850K and 40 glorious lanes, I might just go SLI depending. I believe the XX80 would not be much more than a side grade for me. Maybe $599 for a new 1080 Ti FE style model I can slap a spare Hybrid (in box new) on.

I miss the old numbering. Why can't we get that back? 4600 Ti, 4200 Ti.....or even Ultra and GT. 6800 Ultra, G800 GT, 6800 Non-Ultra.

Don't do it! Save yourself the money, trouble and headaches. Ditch SLI like the vast majority of people and developers have, meanwhile encouraging nvidia to figure out MCM GPU technology. :)

I do trust that leak, it's obvious now that the jump in performance will be bigger every generation, still rememeber some people saying that there will be no big jump in performance after pascal, but there will be, the 1170 is going to be as powerfull or at least 5% more powerfull than the 1080ti just like the 1070 where agaisnt the 980ti in various games, the only bad thing will be the prices, pascal already were a little more expensive than maxwell due to the new architecture and performance jump, now that turing will be even more powerfull and with no competition and probably with new exclusive hardware features like the tensor cores for RTX, i just hope the next 1160 will not cost the same as the 1080.

I see this all over today. Is this all from the same sources?

the strange thing is that my 1080 still holds up for me so far. Even at 3440x1440@100.
The latest drivers and bf1 (that is the only demanding game i play) are so optimized now that i have no need to upgrade. BF V will determine if i will upgrade or not ,1180+, whatever that is i suppose is the upgrade path.

Does that actually mean anything in particular regarding to hardware, or does that system work with "generic" sensors like they usually had on NV graphics cards? As in, did they get their hands on an engineering sample / final design? :D

Well they kind of already have with the TI models. Now they just need to add the GT and Ultra models to make things even more confusing. Maybe they'll even add the 1190 dual GPU cards too.

I just want 3 cards. Simplify the market for consumers and even more importantly, for developers. These SE editions of BS cards like the 1050...come on.
    Ti 4200, 4400, 4600. That's all you had.

1180, 1170, 1160. That's all that is needed. Give them whatever naming scheme you want. I just feel the over saturated market is hurting the business. Especially odd cards that are so under-powered and have multiple variations. I don't mean to sound like a snob, but if you want to game on PC, you should have nothing less than a XX60 series. Anything else makes sense for old school gaming or people just not content with onboard. But the crap I see. High-end too. I don't need a 1170 X T9 OC SE X Edition. And one without the X at the end. And one without SE AND X. Then add a Gold version with a robust fan configuration and a ultimate OC. Then add this 10 times again to the 70 and 60 versions.

With so much console parity and so few decent PC exclusives that aren't broken Steam beta games that couldn't run properly on hardware 5 years from now in it's current state, there's no reason to jump in big with this next-gen of GPU's. I won't take this advice because I'm an american consumption based idiot. But it's really not necessary. Ok...for some 4K titles. FF15 killed my 1080 at 4K. But I don't see anything being more demanding than FF15. That game, imo, sets the mark for the best possible console port without parity, that you can have. And seeing what the 1080 was able to accomplish with that, I think anyone on the 10-series will be fine until the PS5/XBOX 2/Google Gaming device rumored for next-gen
