Speaking only for myself, I feel there are a number of, let's say, judgmental observations within this thread. Nothing rising to the level of outrage, or anything like that. I'm not triggered. I don't do "triggered." Free speech, free thinking; these are precious things.

Simply asking that, if you're having a tech-related discussion involving a female, please consider allowing that she just might have a clue.

 

Over OC net forums there's I.T Diva too. A fine example and member of the hardware/modding community.

She just tries to do what you showed her, you probably didn't explain that it was just for killing off a hung up device, not for everyday use

Hehe oh no don't worry, just tell those / us nasty guys what's wrong, since the same goes for youk free speech and free thinking. To be honest, it would probably trigger a few guys if you speak your mind, I'm fairly sure I'd need some popcorn
But yes... I think I can understand what you mean with "judgemental observations".



Just yesterday I discovered a 19 year old girl from Minnesota that plays Grand Master level Overwatch. Nothing out of the ordinary there (except she's really good), but then I checked the donations again, she gets literally thousands of $ in donations, definately much more than any male streamer of that level of gameplay and being reknown would get. And she already has a pro gaming contract with Cloud9 so... she doesn't really need it. But there the "horny nerd syndrome" kicks in, they probably think they can get to date a 19 year old with giving her $2k donations... besides I'd feel creepy myself doing that, I wouldn't give it to a male streamer either, so why? Why? Oh why?

 

I'm sure there are female members in this forum too but they look at threads like this and think why bother...

 

Its not just here, but all other tech forums. Sure you can find the one-off here and there, but generally thats the way it is. Would think in pure gaming forums (less HW oriented) it may be different. I recall a couple girls here in the gaming section but that was a long time ago.

Yes, I'm very happy. Almost always happy. But, this is StewieTech's thread entitled "Where are all the women?" It isn't about myself. Accordingly, I'll recuse myself from any further involvement, and let you guys get on with the search. Good hunting!

Because the tech industry was started and is still dominated by males, naturally tech forums would be dominantly male. The way they are treated on many sites, makes tech sites almost exclusively male. It's gradually changing over time.

 

Sure I like puppies. I always do. Lived with 7 Goldies for a month, my favourite was Cookie, the smallest of the bunch
