Took a while for them to openly admit that they did bump price on top of shops bumping price.
I wonder if some will try to choke supply to keep price high. At least there are many GPU manufacturers, so it takes just one to sell at good price.

So thats great news right? graphics card will drop in prices?

Last week i got a brand new 1070 ti for 425 euros, probably cause of this.

I mean, 1~3 year old cards returning to MSRP isn't exactly stellar but still better than nothing I suppose.

While GPU prices have been one road block I still think that RAM is the single biggest offender for quite a while now.

The former at least could've been picked up for more or less reasonable prices second hand for a while now - the latter not so much.

I love that crypto is dying but I don't think prices will ever return to MSRP before a new architecture is released.

Hopefully lower RAM prices, bring new GPUs at lower prices (without Crypro demand) and Zen2 + Ice Lake.

2019 should be a good year for upgrade.

Noticeably the GTX 1080 and 1080Ti founders edition cards are also classed as 'End of Line' on most websites and are no longer being re-stocked. This would signify Nvidia are getting ready to release their next GPU generation.

Are there still enough miners buying Vega cards because their prices remain ridiculously high. I don't see gamers buying a Vega 56 if it costs more than a GTX 1080. Or is this just a European thing?

And Nvidia not coming with a new card any time soon.

I'd say let them suffer for their disgusting price bump.

Brace yourselves for a flood of used cards on the market.

Valid point, but I wouldn't come within a mile to buy a second-third hand ? gpu!
I would be concerned that they were mining cards, running at 100% for months on end..
Unless I knew the seller personally, stay the F*&K away!!

Then both AMD and nVidia are not going to sell much. Manufacturers are not going to sell much. And shops will not sell much. Nobody wants to have stuck inventory.
Quick look at bitcoin, and market depth indicated another drop by $100~150 today.

Looks like my pessimistic prediction that bitcoin goes down to $5500 is nearing its completion. And I made it just based on look on graphs when it was around $16k.

I hope that bitcoin drops to my optimistic prediction price.

Governments hiking electricity prices on miners? First I've heard did that. Is that only high end scale and presumably not Joe blogs at home with 10 cards?

Honestly, I'd more like the prices to go back to "normal" levels before the new card generations are released, not afterwards. I guess that only helps people when they try to build up a new rig, any upgrades are in a difficult state right now anyway.

Even for new computers it is ridiculous, people now buy a 2 year old architecture cards at higher prices than launch! we all know Pascal is gonna be replaced soon yet it sells for very high
