Is that even confirmed? Then again I can see NVIDIA revealing the GPU in a months time at least and perhaps having some availability for the initial batch and with the current prices yeah around the cost of the 1080 seems likely.
Going to be fun to see the performance of this.

Nothing is confirmed. Literally nothing at all.

Ill say it again. In August the 1180 is coming at same price as a 1080 Ti. Wait it out or else you will feel like sh*T when the card comes out and your stuck with a 1080. good luck on your decision.

Well, even if the "flagship" 11xx cards come in very late 2018 or early-ish 2019, dishing out €750 now for a 1080 Ti feels kind of too much. IMO, if you don't buy a new GPU within the first 8 (maybe 10) months of it appearing, and since these days they don't get cheaper as they're getting older, it's kind of a waste of money.

It's up in the air when they will come out. Some said July, but their just showing it at convention.

Ok the honcho at nvidia said no geforce gamer cards until mid to late 2019

So there going to milk the 1080 Ti some more. After all they bundled their cards with The Crew game. I knew right there that there wont be a new generation card any time soon.

I went ahead and bought a 1070 Ti for 425 euro brand new. Can always sell the card when the new one's come out.

EDIT: I found some really REALLY cheap NVIDIA cards over at amazon.de from third party seller.
They do have 100% feedback, but i think i saw a 1080 Ti going for around the same price i paid for my 1070 Ti.

It could be legit, but i cba as a 1070 Ti is good enough for me.

How can you get stuck with a card, you can always return it unless you live in a country with crap return policies, in that case you can sell it and buy the new ones

    seems a bit fishy though..

Although this Zotac 1080Ti extreme would nice in my system for just 540€

If you can spend a little extra, grab a 1080 Ti and you won't give 2 sh*ts about the new card. I just upgraded from a 1070 to a 1080 due to a crazy deal, this triggered me to buy a 4K monitor (used to have 2k monitor) with HDR and blah blah. Anyways, Destiny 2, Final Fantasy 15, etc. All of it runs on my system in 4K smoothly. Gears of War 4 was extremely impressive for it's visuals vs. performance in 4K. My hat is off to Microsoft for that one. Final Fantasy 15 struggles to stay about 20-25fps in really intense battles. Nothing different from a console, but if you need a bit more juice to hit that 30fps mark, you'll need the 1080 Ti.

Off topic but Jesus is FF 15 such a jekyl and hyde. That game can look like the most beautiful game I have ever laid eyes on, and then in another scene, the textures and whatnot look like something from a first-gen Xbox 360 game from 2005.

One thing to note, is that the 1080ti probably has the worst dollar to fps ratio of any card from Nvidia.

What's the fps difference in 4k between a 1080 and a 1080 ti? Anyone know off-hand? I'll have to duckduckgo it.

I could be wrong, but i belive 10-20fps. Im not sure, last time i read about it was when i considered selling my gtx 1080 and upgrade to the ti. But decided to wait for next gen, og who ever manages to make a gpu that handles 4k better than pascal.

A lot of games can't even get a stable 120fps on 1080p, let alone 4K.

Even with 11XX series we're still far off from a stable 120+ fps on 4K. If you look at past decades, as performance increased, the mainstream resolution grew. I mostly started gaming around the 800x600 era when 1024x768 was considered "wow" and then 1280x960 (or 1024) started creeping up. Then later on 1600x1200 and after that 16:10 started to hit the market. But I must say compared to previous years, it has become somewhat stagnant.

If you care about your frame rate more than graphical fidelity, I'd say be smart and buy a 1080p monitor instead for now.

Today it honestly feels like the monitor market is moving faster than the GPU market.
