May 11th, 2018 - Windows 397.76 Pick up the latest fixes from general release driver 397.64 Download Links: Download for Windows 8 and 7 (64-bit) https://developer.nvidia.com/windows-78-39776 Download for Windows 10 (64-bit) https://developer.nvidia.com/windows-10-39776
Another driver? I'm currently liking the latest whql (finally a perfect driver from Nvidia) so unless these are a lot better, I'm not even going to bother.
I still getting TDR's with all 397.xx drivers, maybe because Windows 8.1 or definitely is something else xD i stick with 385.69 for now..
Ok I did some benchmarking, etc the usual stuff and they're a bit slower compared to official 397.64. Almost all games, benchmarks had 1-2fps less., I had to run all 2x to get better representation. For example 397.64 had great scores in 1st try. The only positive was 3dmark firestrike with gpuP 20200 again, like 397.40 and .31., 397.64 .54 had that low 19800 score.. It comes and goes driver to driver, but that's also just ~1-2fps difference. Although there was no invisible taskbar when it finished installing and DSR works better, not minimized.. Will play more and see.
Hmm. Atm still at this release atm, but I saw some strange glitch with explorer and firefox, explorer then crashed and restarted. I reinstalled the driver and didn't see it yet.. But I'm thinking of returning to this whql
With these drivers I sadly got some noticeable stuttering in some DX games at 3840x2160 resolution with these after a while that doesn't occur with the 397.64 WHQL ones which I went back to again. Not sure what could have been causing it, I noticed it on the Titan X (Pascal) and GTX 1080 systems I tried them out on.
DID you notice much higher memmory usage with this driver? whats more for example on dx12 memory is constantly growing up to the limit. i have never ever hited 3GB memory limit on my laptops gtx1060 in FIFA 18 for example
I'll try these as they're newer (I think) than 397.64....messing around with system overclock again (4.6ghz is my everest atm) and had an odd issue with 391.58...was using fast sync + framelimit for WD2 (141+3 prerender=144hz) and everything was great....until one restart after changing mem timings...WD2 refused to load...it would start loading then ctd...changed fast sync scenario above to all off...no limit no vsync and the game loaded fine...switch fast sync scenario back on again...game refuses to load...so I'm going to try these instead as the driver or at least Inspector settings seem to have become corrupted....last time I've had this happen was in XP64 days...I think it's the driver though as the 397's are really meant for 1803 which I'm on.
Yeah probably the driver to switch to on 1803, I'm on LTSB with Maxwell so I'm sticking with 391.58 Quadro for now.
Glad I tried these drivers, as they solved the freezing problems I was getting in Wolfenstein 2 with the latest WHQLs.
