At installation time windows asks you about way you want your advertisement. Advertisements are shown in some tiles within tart menu. (easily to be killed)
And in edge. (easily evaded by use of any other browser)
But it still means they want to deliver them and they succeed in large number of cases as users may not even realize they are there.

Secondly part of this delivery is start menu "news feed", which I removed and it is back after some minor update. Showing what someone at MS deems fit.

Yes, I have seen Edge ask about advertising, but I've never seen Win10 query me about ads for Win10 at installation time or otherwise. This possibly may be because I don't use tiles--never have (I'm a start-menu/desktop shortcuts kind of guy)... Just thought I'd ask... I'll keep an eye peeled from now on.
