GeForce 397.31 WHQL Game Ready Download & Discussion

FYI ... 397.31 Quadro version was also released yesterday.

 

Just some random know-it-all dude,.. he was here too, but got banned later, because of the same know-it-all attitude.


Ok he knows a thing or two now, after all these years, but still he's a know-it-all trolol xD

 

He's probably paid by nvidia to chase people away from their forums.

If that's not the case, then I guess is just some person with mental issues or severe social issues (or both?) who is obsessed.

 

Installed them again and this time no artifacts.. Go figure

 

If its the same guy I know from IRC, hes just got a dislike of political correctness in dealing with people and doesn't seem to care what people looking to place blame think of him either.
He was working in a tech shop, but i've not been on IRC for years, so i couldn't say if its still the case or not, but i remember him having a lot of time on his hands and was usually talking tech and tech issues with the engineer guys.

He did consolidate all those 7 users getting TDR's and get nvidia onto fixing it, I think he might be ex-helpdesk, that industry is enough to destroy anyone.

 

No problems with any apps or games for a day now. These drivers seem like a keeper to me!

For the first time since installing FarCry 5 I had a CTD yesterday and today I have issues with Firefox freezing for 5 seconds.
Back to 391.35 and Firefox is fine again.
[Firefox]: Driver TDR error may occur when using Firefox. [2049523] ... try again and try harder.

 

Nvidia's fix log is really misleading, that error was win7 specific.
and its verified as fixed (so far).

if you are on 7 you might have been getting the stuttering/gdi leak issue reported on the geforce forum.

Since this update (397.31) , I have "uxdservice can't stop" when I stop my computer.
I saw many thread on this problem , but it s old problem.
(I made DDU and reinstall driver but same problem on my win 10 (uptodate)
any ideas ?

Does anyone here play Heroes of the Storm? Since upgrading from 391.35 -> 397.31, I've been noticing some weird artifact/corruption happening as seen in these pics.

I'd feel better if knowing others are getting this too, so that it's a driver bug and not something else.

Never had this before when others reporting it @RS3 and now 3x times, 1x at these 397.31, 1x at 389.20 and 1x just now at 397.40., all @RS4

I play HOTS but havent upgraded to the latest drivers yet. Looks similar to the effect I get turning off my 3DLUT with ReShade in HOTS

 

Monitor identification geting screwed up with multiple monitors for as long as I can remember, I not sure if this is Nvidia driver thing FW code thing or Windows thing.

But IF only DVI Monitor is connected.
Windows identifies monitor as 1 and win+p seeing it as pc screen only

IF DVI monitor and HDTV-HDMI is connected
DVI Monitor get identified as 2 and Win + p see's it as Second screen only
HDTV-HDMI gets identified as 1 and Win+ p see's it as PC screen only

Soon as I disconnect the HDTV-HDMI
DVI Monitor is seen as 1 and PC screen only


it doesnt this bug issue what ever it is has been triggering my OCD for 5+ years. IS it windows the issue or the drivers? or how GPU fw is coded?

I installed this 397.31 drivers seeing I was on the 390.77 drivers seeing I was playing uinstall the drivers game to trying fix this again, If i dont report back it means these works just as well as the 390.77 i was using.

 

I'm on Win 10 x64. But haven't had any issues with Firefox since returning to 391.35

 

What OS?

 

Can you try reverting back to driver 391.35 to confirm it is a driver issue and if the issue goes away, please post your in game graphics settings used and any NVIDIA Control Panel overrides used so that I can file a bug pelase? Also let me know what monitor(s) are connected to your graphics card and how each are connected (DisplayPort/HDMI/etc.)?

I went back to 391.35 earlier today and the issue is gone, so its 100% 397.31. My settings are all maxed out via the "Extreme" setting the game options provides;

NVIDIA control panel is all on stock defaults, and I use two Dell 24" Monitors U2412M http://www.dell.com/ae/p/dell-u2412m/pd

Both connected via DVI-D cables.
