I would prefer MSI, as I like their "BIOS"es. All those things one can tune. Their description is meaningful. With ASUS, they sometimes name stuff in their own weird way. But for that price... I had different cooling in mind... Choices/Choices. Edit: Btw. all ASUS boards on czc.cz come with same cooling. Edit2: ML240L reviews are rather mixed. Edit3: Not bundled only by czc.cz, ML240L comes on other shops w/ ASUS X470 boards too.
That Mini ITX looks great! A bit disappointing it doesnt have USB-C but thats something i can live with for a few years i think. Thats plus a 2600 looks to be my next build.
Gotta love it... "Optional stealth mode" - meaning you can actually turn off all the silly lights you had to buy. Nothing against the mobo or Asus (I like my Crosshair VI) - it's the almost mindless marketing.
Just a heads up...if you are planning on using 2 M.2 drives and 2 gpu you will have issues with the way ASUS has set this up. Per Elmor from ASUS at OCN: "It's the only way to achieve 2x M.2 at x4 PCIE Gen 3 without a PCI-E bridge chip (very expensive). Any other solution would use x4 PCIE Gen2 from the chipset, which will slow you down significantly especially if using NVMe RAID. If M.2_1 is used, PCIEX16/X8_1 will run at x16/x8 depending on if there's a card plugged in PCIEX8_2 (as usual). If M.2_2 is used, PCIEX16/X8_1 will run at x8, and PCIEX8_2 will run at x4."
I've read manual for ASRock MB I have chosen. And there use of 2nd M.2 slot disables lowest PCIe 3.0 x16 sized slot which is wired as 2x. So, in CF/SLI 2 upper PCIe 3.0 x16 sized slots work (1st wired as x16, 2nd as x8). But there was other issue MB has Two ATX connectors for CPU, one 8-pin and one 4-pin. So, I had to look for adequate PSU.
The 4 pin connector is not required or needed it is for overclocking actually. And depending on your overclocking may not be needed for a modest overclock.
I went through their forums. While some members stated same thing, some stuff members mentioned that on some boards it is needed as 4-pin is used for memory. So, I think it is better to have decent power delivery there too Manual was quite mute about 4-pin being optional or not.
