I'm trying to use this software to create SLI profiles but I can't get it to load.

    NVidiaInspector.exe loads fine
    NVidiaProfileInspector.exe does not

Nothing seems to happen after clicking on the .exe file or the link inside inspector. I get a spinning cursor as if something is loading then nothing.

    I've tried the following:

-current and older verions of the software
-reinstalling video card drivers after using ddu
-reverting back to older video card drivers
    -updated C+++ packs

I keep reading about people using it fine with similar set ups. Is there anyone willing to shed some light on my problem? What am I missing? Any known confilcts?

    My system stats:

    i7-8700k @ 5Ghz
    MSI Z370 Godlike Gaming MB
    32Gb Gskill DDR4 @ 3200 cl14
Samsung 960 EVO 256gb NVME (OS & Prod)
    x2 Samsung 960 EVO 1tb NVME - RAID 0 (Games)
Seagate Barracuda 4tb 7200rpm HDD (storage & backup)
x2 Gigabyte Aorus GTX 1080ti Waterforce Extreme WB (SLI)
Triple rad custom loop keeping temps in mid 30's to low 40's under load
    Seasonic Prime 850 Titanium PSU
    Windows 10 Pro

Thank you in advance for any and all help.

Thanks, she definitely gets the job done minus this little hiccup. Still a no go after updating those.

    https://patchmypc.net/download

Download the app, in it check for all and any potential updates, get latest Silverlight / .net framework / any remaining C++ versions.

    http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/windows_update_minitool.html

Get the app, check for any potential missed updates.

Also, have you tried running inspector as admin?

Check Event Viewer for Applications and reliability history in Security and Maintenance. There should be something logged in case a program fails to run when launched.

Do you have .NET 3.5 installed btw? I don't remember 100% but I think that Inspector needs it.

-Installed and ran both programs. Updated Silverlight and a few missing C++ runtime libs
    -Always run inspector as admin

    still nothing

Well, it crashes due to an exception but it shouldn't so this is most likely an issue of your OS configuration.
You might try stuff like launching it from a different folder, reinstalling .NET, making sure that your system paths (like temp folders) are in default locations and disabling AV software. Hard to say what may help though.

I tried everything you listed above and still nothing.

I was able to run the software from a new admin user account.

Heading to work now so I will have to mess around more later.

wrong permissions on c:\ProgramData\NVIDIA Corporation\Drs\ are usually the cause of this.

In the long run I still have no idea what was causing the unhandled exception.

After successfully running the software on a new user account I backed up the original before deleting and restoring it. Now everything is as it was with the addition of NPI working.

Although I wish I knew the original cause this did work. Hopefully this thread helps anyone else with the same problem

I have experienced exactly the same problem, so the thread is still relevant. In my case the executable was located in an SMB share. Copying it to a local drive solved the issue.

Windows 10 Pro 19043.928 (fresh install), added dotNetFX via System features. Created a "C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\Drs" folder, which was missing. Initially had the same issue in a freshly installed OS, and adding a new user did not solve it. This problem was actually the only reason for a fresh install, since nothing else helped (various efforts of dotNetFX 3.5 installation, adding dotNetFx 4.0, cleaning up update downloads etc.)

I had a somewhat similar issue, mine turned to be a corrupted XML file however. I pulled my hair out trying to figure out the problem for a long time. *If anyone has a similar issue*

Thank you, this was exactly my issue. My downloads folder is on an SMB share on my NAS, never would have thought to copy it to my machine without your comment! Thanks again!

The type initializer of 'nspector.Common. Drs ServiceLocator' threw an exception.
em nspector.frmDrvSettings..ctor(Boolean showCsnOnly, Boolean skipScan) em nspector.Program.Main(String[] args)

    PLEASE HELP
