Delicious prices for an 8 Core.

Looking forward to go back to an AMD CPU after using Intel for the past 10 years.

Heck even the 2600X would be a nice one.

And then that one line... compatible with 300 Series. Suck it Intel!

Hilbert - just check the clock speeds you have on the table for the 1800X.

When you compare the game "benchmarks", the performance per dollar at release date price, seems quite good.
Now we have to wait for the real benchmarks to see if there is a real improvement besides the higher clocks

Must say i am looking forward to seeing how far these can be pushed in OC hoping maybe 4.5Ghz then it will be something to look at when i need to change my old I7-5820K

I wonder where the 2600/X stands in terms of average gaming performance vs. 8700K at 1080p.

Whats with the NDA date, bottom left on the slides?

1600X is 3.6 base and 4.1 XFR so the 2600X doesn't look or feel right to me....

So the 2700X is 105W TDP? I guess now we know from where the performance comes from. I hate when AMD pushes the chips to the limit like this, leave that for enthusiasts or they'll say it doesn't overclock well...
On another note, the 1700 was really appealing to me but now the 2700 is just lap dancing me to hell.

    PS: 2800X should have a higher TDP (maybe 115 or 125?) and 100/200mhz over 2700X I'd say.

I wonder what 2800x is like, xfr should be higher then 4.35GHz, I guess at least 4.45 if not 4.5GHz.

We are probably looking at a 4.5 - 4.6GHz wall by this refresh, would be amazing if its 4.7GHz. :D

I wouldn't get my hopes up. I doubt the CPUs will clock higher than the rated XFR range (and if so, only by a little), just as the first Ryzens didn't. Remember, this is just a refresh on a bit smaller node - can't really expect big performance gains or better overclockability.

Looking good. Should see some nice bumps if these prove true. Still like to see efficiency numbers.

This makes me really excited for Zen 2! That will be my next target. Very happy with the 1700x for now.

The article mentioned that the 1700X is the flagship, so I think that implies there won't be a 2800(X) for AM4. To me, this kinda makes sense - I predict the 2800X will be the next Threadripper 8 core model, while the rest of the TR series will be bumped down a notch, and might even allow for more "logical" naming schemes (so for example, the 2920X might be the new 12 core).

Either way, getting 8 cores at around 4.3GHz, in addition to the predicted 10% IPC improvement, it seems the new 8-core Ryzens will likely be the most appealing for this next generation, especially for these price points. Most AM4 users aren't going to want to go much higher than 4.5GHz on 8c/16t anyway (due to thermal issues) so even if OCing isn't as stellar as Intel's, it'll still be enough to satisfy people.

O.k. I'll pull the pin and throw the nade out there, what kind of gaming performance expect to see with a pretty and polished up Pinnacle cpu? Will the 8700k still be king of the hill?

I'm going to bet that yes, the 8700K will still be better for gaming, at least if you're going off nothing more than strictly benchmarks. But as has been discussed over and over again, unless you've got a 120Hz+ display (or in this case due to the extra clocks, maybe 144Hz), you're not going to notice a difference.

Yes good spot, that's the NDA for the initial ryzen launch. I'm sure AMD wouldn't use past NDA dates on their latest slides, pretty much confirms this whole leak is fake.

4.3 GHz sounds nice, but I'll probably skip this generation. Of the 2000 CPUs it's the APUs that interest me the most, although I'd like to see what a Threadripper refresh could bring.

Yes, I think it will help close the gap but probably won't surpass the 8700K. Zen+ is basically a higher-clocked refresh so I'm not expecting anything extraordinary. Also, I have a 144 Hz monitor but I don't try to max it out (maybe it's just my middle-aged eyes, but I can't tell much of a difference beyond 90+ FPS). I try to go for at least 60 FPS, but I don't really care too much beyond that.
