With the prices of current hardware and the rumors of ampere XX80 launching at 1500 USD; that price for the 1070ti i think it's okay right, i really need to buy a gpu to power my 2560x1080 @75hz monitor

Idk man, maybe not because when gpu prices drop your gpu real value will be less tan 400 and even less if the 2060 keeps the trends and performs better for less Price then your gpu will be at least 250 and probably people will pay 130 if you sell it as used or probably don't even buy it since 10 series will have a stigma for being used as mining gpus.

If my GPU died id probably just buy a console to pass the time untill the GPU prices dropped again.

I know that the itch is real, however in this particular time - wait. We will have announcement in next several months, which according to rumors and leaks will include two GPU lines - Ampere for consumers / Turning for Crypto.

New line alone will cause prices to drop, and if miners will have something better to aim for they will sell lots of ex-miner cards (never ever buy those) and then you can see if rumors about next consumer line are true or not.

    P.S. Recent News.

Never, if my GTX 1080 was to die being that it has no warranty from being won, I would just use an 9800GT, til the prices go back down, or rush back over to my dad's and take that GTX 480 out the computer I built for my nephews.

That costs as much as a 1080 Ti at EVGA. Ridiculous. Unless you're into masochism, don't do it.

If you want to snag a GPU for a decent price then set up alerts at EVGA or Nvidia (you'll have to set up account there if you don't have one). EVGA sells a 1070 Ti for $549, which is a much better deal.

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Do not sacome to inflated prices, I refuse to buy a GPU anytime soon. As for that matter, they are literally killing off gamers. I will not pay it, Ill find a new hobby!!!!

damn, ok i will not, the thing is i need something for content creation too, specially for cinema 4D and blender, i have the money but as you say i think is a little overprice for something of that performance, it was that or a 1080ti for 1300 usd, but i guess i will wait until march 26 that is the gtc date as i hear.

Thanks but 4GB is a little for my project, i will consider if my other needs (gaming) are urging
