Looks like there's a 18.1.1 beta driver now but it's not a standard release and it's fore FirePro type cards on Windows 7, still it does show that they're continuing work on whatever the first non-alpha / non-beta 18.1.x driver will be. :)
    http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-art...enalin-Edition-18.1.1-Beta-Release-Notes.aspx

Again not a standard driver (There's not even a download URL.) but since it was posted only just yesterday it makes for a nice update to the 18.1.x drivers current status. :)

Though there's usually one or two beta releases every month so not much of a change or anything, WHQL's a bit more infrequently.

    EDIT: Taken from here:

(Curiously the 18.1.1 alpha driver isn't listed here at all.)

I have Win 10 on another machine in fact I have been a "Windows Insider" since they started it. I just don't particularly care for Win 10 myself. But this is off topic so I'll leave it at that. Thanks !

Anyone has issue with Forza Horizon 3?
Random black screens while loading the game.
Really high brightness when starting a race.
    Pretty much unstable and unplayable.

I havent tried it recently, but ill give it a try.

It works just fine. Loading times are fine and so is performance. Game has never been 100% smooth, but its good enough to enjoy.

Guys, has any of you experienced a black screen with these drivers without playing any games?

I had one a few minutes ago. My PC was just downloading stuff while I was having lunch, and when I came back the only thing visible was the mouse pointer. No OC on my graphics card right now. I'm trying to figure out the culprit, the beta UEFI BIOS on my mobo or this alpha drivers. Nothing relevant on the Event Viewer.

PS: Yeah, I love living on the edge! :D

Is hardware acceleration on in the browser? I'd try that first though it depends on the browser in question with Firefox seemingly being more affected by it compared to Chrome or Edge.

Beyond that you have state switches and power management possibly not being 100% reliable so it'll have to be a bios edit and a lot of testing to find stable values and trying to avoid Wattman overclocking.

Other posts just recommend going back to 17.11.4 and skipping Adrenaline for the moment, hard to say which of these are correct or perhaps there's a few different issues in play so it could be a factor of several issues.

No Internet browser was open when it happened. My power management is 100% reliable, system and graphics card wise, and I don't use Wattman at all. I've rolled back to 17.12.2 for the moment and I'll keep testing it.

I've been told on another forum that the same symptoms are happening for some people after Microsoft's security updates for Meltdown and Spectre.

Thanks for the suggestions, JonasBeckman! ;)
