Not a new craze, but a renewed one. The price of Ethereum spiked towards the end of last year, and is now at an all-time high (it was $400 in July, $800 in December, and is now $1400). Mining is now more profitable than it has ever been, and miners are going crazy for GPUs.

It's very bad time to buy new graphic card, not only they are overpriced, but nearly all of them are out of stock in my country.

Dude i paid $490 for my from Amazon, but this 900 dollar thing is extremely crazy. Look at all of those GTX 1070's for over 850 dollars, who the hell is going to pay that much for the card? I would of paid that much for a 1080Ti, now i wonder how much that one is, hehe.

Glad I got my 1080 ti on release before the jumps happened but the current price jumps especially for used cards because of this bubble is getting crazy I am hoping it crashes soon

Funny in Portugal prices aren´t being affected by the mining craze. We can buy a 1070 for around 430€, it was around 500€ at release, a 1070ti for 500€, a 1080 for 550€ and a 1080ti starting at 800€.

Used they are a little cheaper.

Crypto mining is the main cause some days back I bought Sapphire Nitro Radeon Rx580 8gb for 380USD and right now after hiking in price it is of more than 1000K USD.

In Germany (where I ordered my 1080Ti) you can still buy them for 780-790€, and they are available. Just the regular 1070 is more or less out of stock, 1070Ti is available at some shops for around 480€.
