Geforce driver 390.65 WHQL Download & Discussion

How exactly you enable Freestyle? can't find it anywhere.

 

This driver set my display settings to default 10-bit RGB full range.

 

Just installed those. Going to test some nice games. Report back soon

 

Can anyone tell me how gpu driver can fix cpu related problem which requires cpu architecture and OS kernel modifications? Because i clearly do not understand something in here unless this information is just PR bs which wouldn't surprise me in case of nvidia at all.

 

Good question, i don't see new overlay's

 

I never said I had a performance degradation from these drivers. I was referring to the CPU security vulnerabilities. Also like you said these drivers perform more or less the same. So I said they were yet another boring set of drivers.

Check the driver release notes.

 

It can be a hit and miss with this bench, but lately I benchmarked it alot to test my vram OC and cpu OC.. And yesterday night @ 388.71 I had anywhere from 25300-25700, now I've tested it two times 24980 and 25090..

Not really a big deal, will see Rise of TombRaider now, that was ~ 126fps @ default v.high..



To be honest I expected at least some boost, not marginal error (negative) boots.



EDIT:

Hitman Absolution: avg 109, min 90.. same as older drivers, some had min 92..

ROTR: 126.3fps, so that's unchanged as well.


EDIT2: I retested RE6 and its back to normal, got 25390.. SO was just a fluke before and no difference...

 

I think NV developers just added some protection against Spectre to these drivers. For example they could rebuild source files with updated compilers (which received patches concerning latest vulnerabilities too). Also since drivers work deep in kernel they could implement some kernel related fixes.

I don't have that option though (left window with three options is missing completely)

EDIT.: seems like you need newer Geforce Experience software, which is not released yet

They fixed driver crashes in GTA V.
But still issues with OpenGL and Vulkan with windowed borderless fullscreen mode.

I get tired of hear about this, meh i will update to these drivers, after do the windows cu patch, and see if it "did" any thing to my performance i notice, even then i might just wait till i get my evga 1070ti black seeing my set-up process is awaiting approvel

to what? there DX11? there Opengl? cause both those are slow then nvidia on comparable hw last i checked epcially there opengl, which why there vulcan and dx12 show much more improvement over opengl and DX11 vs nvidia

GeForce Experience overlay is still ugly as hell and still uses Alt keys interfering with many apps.

 

Seems there are two new folders with this install, does anyone know what they are used for, do?

because you don't have and don't know it means that WE don't exist? lol...there are many 3D vision gamers out there, mostly like spectators in threads like this one and only interfere if needed.
