Yawn. The Bios flash doesn't fix crap, it's a workaround and an awful one. All it's doing is causing more power draw for video playback, and it isn't how the card is supposed to operate. No wonder you don't get the UVD bug, because your card doesn't even even have a UVD mode left with that fix you suggested. I feel pity for whomever ends up buying used hardware from you.

And the more you talk about the GPU being old, the less it makes sense for it to have driver issues, because even the most recent iteration of AMD GPUs aren't hassle free. An architecture that has been around for almost 5 years should have less problems. I am going to report your posts from here on.

Anybody experience random crash in GTA V on this drivers?
I think it was OC fault, but i excluded it when I and my friend with RX 480 riding in same vehicle and get crash in the same time.
I will try new 17.12.2 tomorrow.

I get a lot of tearing in VLC video player and some 2D games or 3D games with flat maps, but full moving 3D games like fps and car games enchanced sync has really worked its magic.
Im going to try the newest to see if it fixes the tearing.

Couldn't use this driver with my RX 470. It caused massive hitching and even total freezes and lockups in Forza Horizon 3 and World of Warcraft. The 12.2 was a little better but still not good. I went back to the 17.7.2 package which I believe was the last one that did not support Vega. It works flawlessly. I will most likely stick with it and never install anything newer again. Vega support seems to mess things up for the RX cards.

Wrong, many times drivers being optimized for newer architectures will cause problems on older cards. You're more likely to see this than the opposite. The best course of action is to use the last driver that was optimized for your hardware and does not support anything newer. Use that one and never update it and you will have far fewer problems.

Causing problems is one thing, and getting basic stuff like switching between power states wrong is another. For almost 2 years, this was an issue that seemingly has been resolved with Adrenaline, at least for me and a few others.

Probably because the issue before was based on some old code that was integral to the core engine, and needed to be totally rewritten, requiring a new fork.

Google is your friend. Yes, the 17.12.1 drivers are official AMD released drivers.

I tried to update from v17.7.2 on win 10 but update freeze the whole PC.

Used DDU to uninstall AMD drivers from safe mode and tried to install again but it keeps freezing the PC.

Any idea what's wrong and how to solve this issue??
