I still don't know what you think is unsafe.

    The increased clock speeds?
Zotac is not different than any other card out there.

As long as temps aren't 100c nothing is unsafe, besides they throttle before damage will ever occur.

Can't be that much of a difference between the 1070Ti and the regular 1080 and for the above GPU models I would probably have gone with the regular (The non-super) 1070Ti Jetstream, ~100 Mhz doesn't seem worth whatever price premium that's likely been added to the other model when you can overclock it yourself without too much difficulty. :)

EDIT: But hitting 144 FPS at 2560x1440 isn't going to be easy in some of the newer games if you're going after that, G-Sync helps a bit but 100+ FPS at 2560x1440 is tough on most graphics cards on the market even if it's not 4K (3840x2160) just to mention it.

Benchmarks might help, look at what the performance figures of 1070Ti and the 1080 are at 2560x1440 for the games you're interested in and that might help a bit, 60+ is probably not too difficult but breaching 100 is a bit tougher even for this display resolution.

    ok thanks for the answer.

Frist, sorry cause my bad english.cause im vietnamese.

but as you said, hard to hit 144fps at 1440p, yeah, i knew it and im saw the benchmark on youtube.

so if i choose 1070ti, which monitor can i buy?

    27 inch 1440p 144hz gsync or 25 inch 1080p 240hz freesync or just a 1440p 60hz?

    thank you very much again

That is what I would recommend. :)

27 inch is a good size for 2560x1440

2560x1440 is still a good upgrade over 1920x1080

G-Sync allows for a overall smoother experience thanks to it's hardware even if you aren't hitting the full 144 frames with VSync, it's a bit technical but from all I heard it's a great feature.

120hz or higher (144hz in this case.) is a clear upgrade over 60hz and will result in a smoother image, combined with the G-Sync technology these are really good upgrades over previous monitors.

I'm trying to keep the explanation a bit short and without too much technical terms but that's what I would recommend and a bit of a explanation as to why.

If you are upgrading the monitor together with the GPU you should make it a full upgrade if it's not too expensive thus G-Sync and going above 60hz refresh rate.
G-sync will definitively complement the GPU and 144hz is a big improvement over 60hz.

Framerate is a big question though since it can vary heavily from one game to another and then overall optimization and many other technical factors, trying not to make this too complicated but you are probably aware of this already.
(Even the 1080Ti GPU can see performance drops in some games for example even with it's otherwise very high performance level.)

From a few searches the 1070Ti and 1080 GPU's are capable of hitting almost 80 FPS in some of the newest games at 2560x1440 but that's with everything maxed out too and that's also where G-Sync works really well.
Lower something like shadows one notch also tends to see large gains in framerate so that's always a option, there's usually not a big difference visually either.

But from how I see it 2560x1440 is a good fit for the 1070 (And 1070Ti) and 1080 GPU's allowing them to really use their hardware plus it's a nice improvement over 1920x1080 without being as demanding as 3840x2160.
G-Sync is a really big upgrade (Has to be seen or experienced for full effect.), costs a bit more though but well worth it from everything I have read about this technology.
As is leaving 60hz behind and going for 144hz for the refresh rate, much smoother due to faster transitions or updates between frames.

And size wise I find 27 inch to be a pretty good form factor for 2560x1440

EDIT: The monitor can also last until the next GPU upgrade so it would be a good investment even long-term. :)

Thank you! It arrived late yesterday, its a real monster, managed to get a near solid 2 Ghz on the core and the core temperature barely reaches 60 degrees celcius during the Witcher 3 maxed out at 1440p with the framerate unlocked, I definitely got what I paid for! :) The only thing that slightly bothers me is the fact that they went with solid red LED's on the shroud surrounding the fans while including a full RGB bar on the backplate but its only a minor design flaw because that ridiculous heatsink totally makes up for it, lol.

Here is a picture of the card, the card underneath is a GTX 980 Ti Gaming with an Accelero Xtreme IV cooler, the Trio has even more surface area, crazy.

    What's your OC ?
I get 1080Ti Seahawk EK ...actually the same card just better cooling. And found it's not very good ...GPU is the same as my stock air cooled GamingX(dead) but at very low temps on water ...memory is much, much worse than my stock air cooled Palit Gamerock 300-400Mhz real frequency difference...
Anyway 11607 GPU score in Timespy is not bad I assume for the card in my AIO EK360 Predator together with 8700k:)

Almost 2.2GHz on the chip is bad? Well... I had two Aorus Xtreme here and both only did slightly above 2GHz.
I kept one and used liquid metal for the GPU. Stays below 50 degrees on air now (80-100% fan) but still not much higher clocks.
It is 35-40% faster than my older 1080 GLH so I'm happy with that, though.

Not that good is not equal to bad :)
This Almost 2.2 run is with 1.2v...With default BIOS and max voltage 1.093 even 2.1 are not stable where my both previous cards can achieve on air cooling and much worst memory...

Yes, well that makes perfect sense. Both of the cards I had here were fine with +750MHz memory, no errors or slowdowns.
With water cooling and max voltage, I'd also expect the chip to hit at least 2.1GHz to be satisfied.
Otherwise it makes no sense to pay premium for the cooling.

Yes...locked the voltage to 1.1v and seems 2100/12400 could become stable...just the consumption is rediculous with XOC BIOS w/o limits :))

    Hey all, Happy holidays.

Short question. I am building a monster pc and i want a 1080 ti. I will be gaming at 144p.

I am between the asus strix and the msi trio one. Anyone has any experience? In terms of silence and temperatures because in essence all those cards are the same.

    Thanks!

I got the Strix OC and I am extremely satisfied, temps are great and the card doesn't go much down with the frequencies while gaming thanks to that. I didn't try the other one though.

Thank you for the quick response! I was leaning towards the strix because of the AC:O bundle as well, which is a decent game.

The Asus 1080ti OC is s great card, and I'm really a picky person.
Fast, quiet, well-built and well compatable with msi afterburner, not like the other "2-slot" junk I had before it.

Is zotac a good brand for these kind of cards, i hear some people say that they are cheap on everything they do.

Over here, Zotac has one of the longest warranty periods.
Other than that, the best to choose between manufacturers would be the cooling solution (what's installed and what's allowed) and software bundle.
