Sneak preview: Nvidia Titan Xp Star Wars Collector's Edition

And there I would have thought that the Jedi card, for some reason, would get a blue color.

 

It's a Luke Skywalker Lightsaber style Titan XP. Not a bad looking card considering the reference style cooler. This custom design makes the cooler more presentable.

Not Surprised by that considering Nvidia bleeds green. AMD needs to make one of their cards like this but Red in color if AMD had a card competing with the Titan XP that is.

 

....and it gets so hot at certain point that you can use it as a Light Saber!

MEH, not really a fan of this one, don't think it looks very good.

 

Me neither, looks like a mod in progress or if someone tried to use paint stripper and failed miserably.

 

Anyone notice how it's now STAR WARS branded yet the price didn't go up at all?

 

I think the paint stripper fail part that you mentioned - I think they're trying to make the card look like embattled X-wing starfighter paintwork (something along those lines), so I can see why they've done it, but for sure we both don't like the look of it! To avoid being too harsh, I could see some die-hard Star Wars fans liking it though.

 

I think its quite sad that a big company like Nvidia have to jump on a gimmick like a star wars edition . The card has FA to do with the film as in we see it!

i cannot see it being collectable and if and a big if, by the time that becomes collectable you will have cpu's with igp's graeter powere than a xp

 

Sad? I'd say on the contrary (for them), since they're doing so good in all segments that they can afford to have such sidekick collector's luxury cards as a cherry on the cake.

Yes that would be cool, thinking about getting the Jedi version. Don't pay any attention to the naysayers who would think anyone who would defy their reasoning as worthy of execution.

 

Lol yeah.. I only have 1 complaint about them. The little black piece next to the SLI connector blocks any HB sli bridge so in order to run Sli the collectors edition has to be the bottom card. I have a normal titan xp and a collectors in sli. But sure I'll post some pics of it running on a Gigabyte x299 Gaming 9 board.

 

Went ahead and ordered the Jedi, will sli it with my pascal. Should be here next week. :>) Did it because I wanted to and I can. Nothing for anyone to bitch about.
