new PC need some advise

    Hello Guru Peeps,

    Current pc is 5 years old (except GPU) and desperatly needs an upgrade :)

    So this is what im currently looking @

    cpu new coffee lake 8700 K or 8700 ,not sure if im gonna OC,currently have 3770 K but never Oc it

    mobo ASUS ROG maximus hero X (Z370) with Wifi

    RAM 2x8 G Skill Trident Z RGB 3000 or lower woth some good timings

    Case havent made up my mind yet,been looking @ new coolermater c700p,be Quiit dark base pro 700 , lian li alpha 550 ....

    GPU still using my gtx 980 Ti Sli setup,still runs pretty good so planning on waiting next gen gpus

    The main use will be gaming,

    havent checked the new Ryzen,kinda hooked to intel last Pc builds so ....

    All feedback is appreciated

    You don't have a SSD,,,, that is a cardinal sin. Your bringing down your OS< big time bottleneck. gl

    Pure gaming is better for intel; depends if you have high refresh rat monitor.
    Ryzen is fine for 60hz.

    What monitor do you have?
    What about PSU, SSD, etc?

    If you don't plan to OC, stick with 2666 memory and 8700.

    the things ive listed in my post are things i will replacing ... have you ever seen a pc running without hdd/ssd ?
    i have 3 ssd and some hdd (storage) that i will re-use

    im using as DELL 34 inch widescreen 3440 x 1440
    PSU SSD etc will be re-used

    I'm not too knowledgable about these things, but will you really see much of a difference?

    3770K seems pretty good and you're keeping your SLi setup. It doesn't seem to me that CPUs have come on that far in the last few years.

    Guess you get M2 and other functionality? But game-wise? will you see much improvement?
