Assassins Creed performance: Origins likes 8 or more Threaded CPUs

Kinda missed a boat there, ThreadRipper is not enjoying Origins like it should. Core scaling isn't working well and 1950X's can't even run the game without disabling quad channel memory or cutting core count in some way...

Shitty code is shitty. As usual from Ubifail, regardless of whether it's the DRM or not.

 

Besides the fact that anyone who thinks any 32 thread(or anything beyond 12 really) will properly be utilized in 2017 isn't the brightest light bulb.

because:
1. a res that a lot of ppl use
2. this isnt a cpu test/review, but about a game. hence, i wanna see more results especially for the common setups (1080p/1440p/2160p), not just one.

unless i mess up hardware/os/drivers/cooling/power, no game/test will "change" the cpu performance.
its the other way around.

and even if its not by much, there is a measurable difference, and have the results would be nice.

its not like that it would have cost them another 1000$ to run the same bench @ different res...


(similar issue i saw with guru when hilbert was still benching at 720/1080p,
and 1440p was getting "common" for lots of ppl and HDT was starting to run UHD.
reviews/tests should "lead the way", so potential buyers can get a better picture before buying the new stuff).

 

Not asking for it to be properly used, just that they don't release a game that crashes due to the number of cores available...
Might need to upgrade your 40W comprehension bulb...

More cores will not help in the increase of indirections/cache misses..

 

Not surprised by any of this considering more than 4 core CPUs have finally hit the mainstream market and some Game devs are taking advantage of it. In this day and age I wouldn't go below 4C/8T CPU at the bare minimum if you are gaming.

Exactly. Also with Threadripper I remember Jay form JayzTwoCents saying that while gaming with Threadripper disables some of the cores. Not sure on how that works.

That's because of the stupid dual DRM that needs at least 4 Cores....

 

So... I have an Intel Core i7 5960x (8-core/16-thread Haswell-E) processor @ 4.4Ghz and a Titan X (Pascal). Do you think this will run the game w/ no problems?

 

Only at 720p and low settings due to the fact they use shitty DRM twice on top of each other rather like being the meat in a fat lady sandwich you can only move a little bit before being suffocated

 

And no one actually believes a word they say anymore
