Rainbow Six Siege plans to eventually have 100 playable operators or more

Rainbow Six Siege has found its feet, and now Ubisoft is planning updates – and a lot of them.


Rainbow Six Siege had a bit of a rocky start, but Ubisoft’s live game tactical shooter has certainly found a new lease of life through patches and updates – and if comments from Ubisoft are anything to go by, it’s here to stay for quite a while.

In a recent interview with PC Gamer, Rainbow Six brand director Alexandre Remy revealed that the game could expand significantly, using the number of operators in the game as a benchmark for just how far Ubisoft might go.

“We are looking at developing the game with 100 Operators,” Remy said. “I’ll let you do the math and work out how many years that does.”

That might not even be the end of it, either, with Remy adding “There’s no reason for us to stop there.”


We’re not going to get into the nitty gritty of the actual mathematics and it’s likely the rate at which new content is added will speed up now the game is settled and more balanced, but let’s put it this way – Siege currently has a little over 30 operators as of the recent Operation Blood Orchid update, with the three latest additions being from the Hong Kong and Polish forces.

Siege isn’t even two years old yet – so it’s easy to imagine how long tripling the number of operators would take. Clearly, Ubisoft is in on Siege for the long haul.

They’ve got good reason to be, too – the game recently passed 20 million registered players, with 2.3 million of those signing in to blast some baddies daily. That’s a lot of people.

Indie FPS ‘Bright Memory’ made by Single Developer

Bright Memory is one of those special indie projects that almost look like they were made with an AAA budget. Developed by a single man, Zeng Xiancheng, it looks great both in terms of graphics and gameplay. It runs on Unreal Engine 4 and it was built using Blueprints only, in a mere year of development during his spare time (the developer also has another job).

Bright Memory is so impressive that Epic Games recently awarded Zeng Xiancheng a spot in the latest round of their Unreal Dev Grants.

Divinity: Original Sin 2

Larian Studios has announced that the sequel to its award-winning and critically-acclaimed fantasy RPG, Divinity: Original, has today launched on Steam and GOG. Divinity: Original Sin 2 features deep, turn-based combat and an epic branching story, and gives players the freedom of a tabletop RPG, encouraging improvisation, and experimentation, and bending traditional video game rules.

In Divinity: Original Sin 2, players can go anywhere, talk to anyone, interact with everything, and overcome obstacles like in no other RPG.

According to the press release, Larian Studios has built upon all of the things that made the original a hit. This includes an expanded world, branching story, deeper turn-based combat, a classless character development system, 4-player co-op play, and epic amounts of fully voiced dialogue. The world of Rivellon is full of new lands to explore, both beautifully detailed and brutally dangerous.

New to Divinity: Original Sin 2 is Game Master Mode, an ambitious undertaking by Larian Studios that gives Game Masters the tools to create their own custom campaigns. A GM can create an entire campaign from the ground up, uploading their own world map and assets, editing battle and dungeon maps, scripting roleplaying scenarios with player response options, rolling virtual dice, and managing intense battles in real-time with up to four players. GMs can even upload and share their campaigns via Steam Workshop.

Planet Alpha is described as an adventure that takes place in a living alien world where players have the ability to control the day and night, and looks absolutely gorgeous.

According to its description, Planet Alpha will combine fast platforming, challenging puzzles and stealth moments with an unique artstyle to create an unforgivable experience.

 

Pro Evolution Soccer 2k18 Demo

Pro Evolution Soccer 2018 has just been released on the PC and Konami has also released its PC demo. This demo is identical to the one released for consoles on August 30th, and includes twelve teams (eight club and four national teams), two stadiums, as well as two game modes.

Contrary to last year’s offering, the PC version of Pro Evolution Soccer 2018 is identical to its current-gen version (PS4/Xbox One). The game is powered by the FOX Engine and as such, we can safely say that its PC version is the definitive version.
