So a leak came out showing the 8350k against the 6700k and 7700k in the CPU-Z bench.

It shows a lead in single thread but nipping at the heals in multi as well.

Now it is important to note the CPU in question seems to have a slight overclock (BLK is set to 103 netting a 4.113Ghz clock speed)

As always with these things keep your salt handy.

    1GB L2 cache 256KB per core? How many cores this thing got ;) i think it's 1MB L2.

So, er, is Intel planning to dump its i7's in favor of i3's...? Somehow, that doesn't seem at all likely.

    The
The leaked 8700k CPU-Z shots I've seen show almost 1600x multi scoring.
Now this is the old bench so it doesn't compare to the 8350k score above.
    1600x

Edit: didn't realize the the above screen shot was so big.

my old i7 4790k 4.6GHZ in cpuz scored 501points for single core performance, multithread performance score is 2534points

My Ryzen 1800x at 3.9Ghz with 3200Mhz Ram scores 447 and 4776 on the latest CPU-Z bench.

I am guessing it does not show the boost frequency for the cpu. As with 6700k and 7700k.

it's still equal to what we always called an i5....except this is Coffee Lake i5 with a i3 sticker.

i3 will be intels quad core processor with Coffee Lake

    This "peasant" i3 is faster than my 4.5Ghz overclocked 5820K 474SC & 2775MC (HT:OFF) in 1.80.1.
Im defiantly moving to i7-8700K with delid and WC its going to overclock like crazy.

    i3 has no "boost" state.

Appears to be around the $350-370 mark.

if Intel sees AMD as actual rival, they will price match Mainstream Ryzen CPUs, if not then at least it will cost somewhat less than last year comparable series, meaning that 8700K will cost for sure 10-20$ less than 7700K

I doubt they will match. Remember all of the mainstream Intel CPU's have iGPU's in them. They cost more to produce than Ryzen. Not that that is a good thing. As much as they threw shade at AMD over "glueing" dies together. It's obviously a more cost effective method with little performance impact.

Bro...it has six cores and multi-threaded performance also jumps by just over 51 percent over 7700K ....its gonna cost more/ if it only cost $320-350....then AMD is screwed again...and all ryzen buyers will say....?

Will be ok , if amd can sell a full 8 core chip at 330$ at launch day, they can drop the price, still very very interesting that they appear to have moved the launch for coffee lake from q2 2018, if it launches this year it will be quite the change in attitude.

if it does launch in early 2018, by that point, it will be the latter half of 1st gen ryzen's market life before new 7nm chips show up, having already well established its self. too late really for coffee lake to have stopped ryzen's roll, hell if it launched tomorrow it would probably be too late for intel to stop the momentum am4 has accumulated.
