MSI is  teasing what looks like an X299 motherboard ahead of Computex at the end of the month. It can be expected that many Skylake-X/Kaby Lake-X motherboards will be on display at the show. And then...

I can't seem to figure out what will be the benefit of the 7740K over 7700K... So the new 7740K will be compatible with the new X299 platform, have the exact same specs as a 7700K without a iGPU. Not even the the quad channel memory will be supported ot the 7740K.... Looks like a stupid upgrade if you go X299 with a 7740K. You will just pay more for the same or even less.

Possibly 28 lanes instead of 16 and the included benefits of the chipset..

You shouldn't be buying a 4core on this platform if you are smart.

Me neither... Exept to goes with better CPU after.

But if you go 2066 socket it is that you already have the money for this CPU.

this one is not even like entry level CPU for X79 or X99 that were having extra over the mainstream equivalent.

    Indeed.

But if you are buying an 8core then this platform will probably be to expensive.
