I just flashed my XFX RX480 XXX 8GB version with the sapphire limited edition bios...
    had to use atiwinflash -p 0 -f bios.rom

installed drivers now runs 1411/2000 and says RX580 woot

    EDIT:
Battlefield 1 keeps crashing with a directx error... i have tried bumping volts and clean driver installs....

I am going to try downclocking now to see if it stables out

Did you try the powerlimit? How much extra volt did you add?

Off hand only MSI has some models with duel PCIE, maybe more but haven't looked it up. My NITRO+ 480 8G OC only has one and that's the first thing I thought off. I'll just wait for a few to see more reviews and threads before I do it.

so if I just downclock to 1390 it runs fine...
going to try and bump to +6 voltage and +5 power limit see if it holds at 1400

Out of curiosity, do you have the XFX XXX with the blower style fan (like the reference card) or the one with the custom fans?
If you flashed the Sapphire bios, this comes probably with a custom fan profile tailored on the Sapphire cooler. That is also a thing to consider and look at when using different cards bios.

Mine comes with the dual fan and passive fans. I just set mine to 100% all the time. I game so loud I do not care about fans...

Can not get stable at 1400 no matter how much voltage or power limit is thrown at it.

I am sticking with 1390 which is up from my last highest of 1340. so its better in the long run at moment. if I notice to many issues I will just switch to other bios and switch when different drivers come out for testing

Well few ppl reported around 50 MHz or even more OC with the new 580 bios top of the highest OC they had before.
Also you could try the 1450 bios but nothing will be guaranteed.

Not totally sure I see the worth in risking a flash when you can just auto load an overclock if the cards are the same.

Flashes in the past that unlock more cores n stuff sure, but just a higher clock, err.

Still getting a DirectX error, but it could just be the RX580 drivers. I had same issue with 480 when it came out. so I bet better drivers will help and maybe using the xfx 580 bios instead of sapphire.

I'm going to try flash my XFX RX480 but I'll wait for XFX RX580 bios, not trying Sapphire or other brand. I'm really curious how it gonna works, I'm getting 1400Mhz with no problem at all so I think it's possible to reach stable RX580 clocks. Wish me luck :nerd:

One thing to do is after flashing your video card is to remove all drivers with DDU and then reinstall it fresh. You may want to also reset your bios in cases of any weird settings or detections then reinstall drivers.

I did not need to do it when I flashed my 6950s to 6970s and it worked for nearly 6 years with no issues (other than heat and loud fans).

I love AMD with all those "freebie" performances. :D

    Still waiting on Vega.

My personal experience of flashing graphics cars is a bad one. Tried flashing an AMD one about 8 years ago and bricked it so have steered away since.

    UPDATE:

Issues with Sapphire BIOS on my XFX RX480...
Flashed it again using MSI RX580 bios of 1393/2000 but still get directx errors in bf1.
So I downclocked it to 1366/2025. working no issues with no power bumps, power limit needed 50%.

set fans to 100% but it now pulls up to 220w of power! never used to go over 150w before.

I am looking for the MSI RX580 bios file default of 1366/2000 that card only has 1x8pin power which should be what rx480 users with 1x8pin power should be using...
no issues or blue screens yet. just annoying directx errors in bf1 which is pr obably a driver issue. happened with rx480 but stopped after several driver updates.
and VSR does not work in game or games do not detect it. I have to set my desktop resolution to what I want and set game to borderless and it will use my resolution.

Also I no longer get throttling using RX580 bios. I used to throttle hard going over 150w but no more.

RESULTS MAY VARY FOR EVERYONE I TAKE NO LIABILITY FOR YOU DOING THIS.... every mobo and chipset and processor and ram may not react the same to the rx580 and new drivers are needed.....

So, i flashed my rx 470 4gb (XFX) to rx 570 (gygabyte) and everything works but, now is slower :s3d: why? i dont know i also tested some games like tomb raider and far cry primal and it runs slower in all of them, it runs like when the power efficiency switch is on but is missing in the radeon settings, if i go back to rx 470 the switch reapers so this is very strange.
btw. im using the latest drivers 17.4.3
    Check the results:
    Rx 570 bios (gigabyte) https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B11y4b8Rl-MQRkxhemVIam9WcjQ

    Rx 470 bios (xfx)https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B11y4b8Rl-MQNGNHUnZWMkhsNDA

Maybe there is throttling caused by the different power and fan profile. If your xfx is the single fan version with a 6-pin connector while the gigabyte is the two fans gaming version with 8-pin connector, then are quite different cards, with a small frequency difference too.
Have you monitored the cards during the benchmarks to see their frequencies?

The model of My card is the 2 fans triple x hard swap, it looks almost identical to the one from gigabyte even the memory its the same thats why i choose that bios also they have the same connectors: 3 display ports 1 dvi and 1 hdmi and the gpu its clocked only 18 mhz higher (1226 vs 1244) im gonna try with another bios to see what happens.

    Asus RX 580 8 GB

    015.050.000.001.000000
    PCI-E
    1360 / 2000

I found the most stable for my card is 1366/2025

So I use the 1360 Asus BIOS and use Afterburner to set to 1366 / 2025 with a +50 Power Limit. No issues and no more throttling.. very happy.

    using rx580 drivers 17.4.4
