Testing the "Ultimate" 4K card at just Full HD in a 4 years old benchmark is kinda pointless. Those extra shaders will not get to run efficiently without more pixels to process. Let's see the TimeSpy or FireStrike ULTRA results and then we can talk about differences!

yeah something tells me im good for another generation. i got over not having the fastest card on the market when the ti came out. still bitter though!

J/K ! @meth curt This is a "Halo" product, you only buy Titan cards to show off... they have no practical purpose for a gamer, you could get way more performance with two SLI-ed 1080's, which are also cheaper. I have a feeling that's exactly what I'm going to do this year, get another identical card. And run 2560x1440@144Hz smooth like butter ! Thank you, but Nvidia can keep their Titans...
realistically, i got mine primarily to move away from sli (had maxwell titans for over a year and 1080s in sli for a week) because the games i cared about had poor support / launch support. im also a pretty early 4k adopter and it was the only way to get the required powered with a single card. im hoping that future generations bring cards that can drive 4k games better for less than a grand. i agree that theres a certain prestige factor involved -- even if its not the primary motivation, like with any other moderately expensive hobby. im old enough to deal with a slightly smaller e-peen though
I just reminded myself some rumor about Pascal architecture. There was mentioned, TitanXP not fully utilize P architecture capability. So now we have Xp Ye i agree, all agree, their Titan naming sucks. Now customers will need to be more carefully when buying a Titan card.. to avoid get older version xD. Portals needs to watch out on typos aswell. Personally I think two 1080 in SLI mode, have more sense to me. Tree reasons why: 1. can distribute solid 60 FPS in 4K gamming 2. two GTX1080 cost less 3. better coolinig solutions from partners Even if some games do not support multi-gpu technology. There is still alot supported one.
i would pay a premium price for this GPU to avoid SLi no matter what GPUs used in it dual GPUs for gaming are not worth the hassle
One can't simply skip cats. For me, Nvidia can keep all their cards. Spoiler Just because you can afford it, doesn't mean its a smart consumer choice to do so. A 1080Ti will get you a long way for a far better price/performance. I do agree, they could be the solution for extreme gamers wanting to take advantage of high refresh rates and 4k but the optimization isn't there.
This is what the 1080 TI should have been. Seems like Nvidia just can't keep from screwing customers over.
They did the exact same with the 980Ti. I love Titan threads. A bunch of users in here telling Titan owners how they should spend their money, while claiming they don't care how others spend their money.
Did they? TXM and 980ti ware the same. Maxwell gen didnt had two Titan X's. Pascal milking is even worse and confusing.
How do U plan "feed" 4K screen at constant 60FPS with single Xp? I mean it's good to avoid SLI setup. But if You are demanding GPU user... BTW. Most hassles with SLI rely on locking framarates to screen refreshrate. Or find better SLI bits. Can be confusing sometimes, for some. But Performace gain is worthy. Properly optimized games work with SLI just wonderfully.
Titan X (maxwell) was full GM200 (3072 cuda cores). 980Ti was a cut GM200 (2816 cuda cores). Kepler was worse. 780, 780ti, Titan and Titan Black.
