"40 customised compute units at 1172MHz" now i wanna know what GPU is that, that's not polaris 10

Here's hoping they still don't use a sata2 controller on Scorpio.

lol, so they went Ryzen+Polaris. I have to say there f*cking late. But i'll probably get it if M$ will have some awesome dedicated games. Otherwise it will not be relevant.

How do we know that exactly? All their descriptions about the command processor and how efficient the compression tech is, show to a smaller Vega.

so other then 200mhz more on cpu and 4 compute on gpu and 150mhz on cpu and 4 more gb on ram it not much diffrent from ps4

I wonder if they pushing this next system? or xbox one upgrade cause ps4 pro is upgrade not next gen

Polaris 10 with 4 more cu's? Or something entirely different. Seems like ps4 pro might have polaris 10 tho.

And it seems it might have ryzen since jaguar is not mentioned anymore. Exactly 6tflop console with 2560x2x1172.

4gb more ram and 100gb/s more bandwidth then ps4 pro. 1.8 tflop more processing power so one ps4 on top of ps4 pro.

I'm willing to bet that it is on the same fab process as Jaguar, just beefed up a little. Sort of how ATI/AMD have done with some of their past console parts for Nintendo.

Could be yes. That would be easily the weakest point then.

Anything about using 120fps@720/1080p option besides 4K?

    Earlier there was some rumour...

At least they kept their promise. Close to 50% more juice than in PS4 Pro.

I actually read the whole article, I'm not watching the video again. The compute performance is roughly equivalent to an overclocked RX 480. That doesn't mean that the chip is Polaris. They also mention that there are other improvements and that they need roughly a GTX 1070 to match it.

More excited how this will have an impact on PC game development and AMD hardware.

Nice report...;) Microsoft is learning quickly the possibilities of designing its own x86-compatible hardware for its consoles...! Now that consoles are effectively bargain-basement PCs highly optimized for gaming the sky is the limit! The old 10-year longevity assumptions of the former non-x86 game consoles is at long last dead and buried. Wonderful. Long live the x86 PC as it continues to drive its little brother, the x86 gaming console! The things aren't designed to be user upgradable and serviceable, but at this rate there's no reason that console manufacturers can't bring new-improved consoles to market every 3-4 years that will also have the advantage of maintaining 100% backwards compatibility with already released games. I'll never move away from the PC, but still it is nice to see the PC advantages finally spilling over into the gaming console world. Everyone wins.

I don't know how it could be Polaris 10 since full one was 480. Maybe some new custom Polaris whatever thing. Or a really small Vega dunno. But 2560 shaders with 1172 clock leads to slightly better compute perf then Polaris for sure. And if it roughly matches 1070 it is for sure not a Polaris :D
