You owe us to keep your AMD fan boy persona out of the Nvidia section.

How about a list of software which require WDDM 2.1 then?

All HDR10 presentation content needs WDDM 2.1. Some games using a DX12 renderer may require it as well.

So how are these games which use HDR10 presentation working on Windows 7 then?

Personally, even though I have no use for it as of yet, I am still disappointed WDDM 2.2 drivers are not out yet. I have been waiting to do a full clean format of Windows 10 on my main PC, so all I am waiting for now is the nVidia driver that's optimized for the Creators Update to do a clean format. I'm not in a hurry or anything, but I had hoped nVidia would release it early, at least to Microsoft, so it becomes the main embedded driver within Windows 10 Creators Update. Instead now after formatting, I have to use DDU and install the next driver, when it comes out.

i'm too lazy to do any clean install. just now i updated to 15063.13 & so far so good.

as long don't have any serious issue, i won't format. previously, i had BAD_POOL_HEADER (BSOD) caused by malwarebytes.

In the AMD section, a user had Comodo Internet Security mess up the AMD drivers for the Windows 10 15063 build.
I also remember users having the Anniversary Update getting crashes at startup due to Avast.

Antiviruses just seem to be a PITA today

There no way a user should need to do clean format on update, what will happen to 99% that the auto update happens?

MS needs to have that work as best as possible, now fast ring and preview (Alpha/beta users), yeh your taking a chance it works as there will be more bugs, or at least should be less in RC :)

previously, malwarebytes v2 can consider one of the best but ever since released v3 is totally disastrous!

look the forum u can notice a lot people complaining can't update, BSOD, random protection auto turn off, etc.

now 3.0.6 CU4 didn't give too much issue yet. who knows?

    https://forums.malwarebytes.com/forum/41-malwarebytes-30/

FYI, win def must disable to avoid conflict with malwarebytes.

today, i ran the W10 assistant update & just now installed new 381.65 so far no issue expected Dota 2 (vulkan mode) :puke2:

Why not use WDDM 2.1 driver in the meantime? There is no software which require 2.2 and there won't be for quite some time.

And, well, WDDM 2.2 driver is out now anyway.

AMD driver 17.4.1 do not added WDDM 2.2 interface support at all.
10 bit output is supported on starting from Windows Vista on exclusive fullscreen only. I guess HDR is obtained manually computing Rec.2020/2100 gamut via software or using IHVs proprietary extensions.

I know this. Point is I don't know of any program which is using WDDM 2.1+ HDR10 output at the moment. All known HDR enabled games are using IHV APIs for this.

WDDM 2.1 also added some new APIs to Direct3D 12 and even of to Direct3D 11 (via D3d11.4 interfaces, which also have been updated with RS2 and WDDM 2.2). But surely if some DX12 game uss them, they are not mandatory.
Do not expect that a new Windows SDK (and consequently) a Windows 10 version update will become immediately mandatory for games.

    Intel has released two WDDM 2.2 drivers for Skylake/Kabylake;

    22.20.16.4612 WHQL
    22.20.16.4629 WHQL

Neither of them show WDDM 2.2 (or HDR option) on my HD530 though (although Nvidia's 381.65 does for my GTX1060).

Does anyone know if Skylake's iGPU will support HDR?

I received the 4629 set on my HD530 Optimus laptop, is there a download link for that set? Latest one I can find on Intel's site is the 4627 set.

There is no setup executable as it came from Windows Update, you'll need to install it using device manager.
