...but unfortunately 4G beats it hands down here so look like I have to keep using 4G.

Haha, I'm getting whatever the opposite of Deja Vu is! You've just done what I'll be doing in the next few weeks. Moving from TWC's 300/20 to symmetrical gigabit fiber. Although mine will be from Google, not AT&T. I have no idea as to why Google came to my neighborhood. This is not a wealthy area and the houses are average, but I sure am happy to just about cut my monthly bill in half and get WAY better internet.

I'm thrilled to be out from under TWC's boot soon, and to have a working modem/router for once. They set us up with 3 different ones over the years, all with the Puma 6 chipset. Terrible performance even with speedtests showing 300/20, lots of packet loss and latency issues as reported and proven by dslreports. I'll be sure to do several speedtests right after the switch and come post in this thread. :nerd:

Things changed... 50/10 Mbit VDSL2 (FTTC).
Kinda funny that they seem to refuse to sell 100 Mbit connection when it clearly should be possible:

    EDIT:
Now 100/10. Had to exchange few emails though.

You will love it. I got so excited I spent about $800 upgrading my network. Got to buy a couple access points still when my wife won't miss another $700.

No complaints for me. I pay for 250/30 and this is my avg.
It would be nice to have fiber but when I get around 42mb/s I can not complain.

Google Fiber guy just finished. Worked all day through the pouring rain! Here is my first speed test.

I'm blown away at how fast everything is so far. All my PC's and wireless devices can use the internet at the same time! Now I'm working on what advanced NIC card settings should be on or off with this much bandwidth.

EDIT - DSLreports test seems quite good, especially compared to the internet I came from.

Not full gigabit in reality. I haven't found a site yet that can go over 50-60MBps. Downloading the 378.88 WHQL's from nvidia's site got me ~53MBps. Stuff from Filehippo does around 40MBps. Steam does 65-75MBps with my SSD just sitting around twiddling its thumbs.

My computer in the kitchen (Q6600@3.0GHz, 4GB of DDR2) was able to sustain anywhere from 70-80MBps upload through Vuze with 4 seperate Linux distros unrestricted and active at the same time. None of the other computers or devices went any slower while that was going either, a far cry from my previous ISP.

We are lucky, I won't lie. Coming from TWC with terrible reliability and randomly dropping speeds that would make steam chats with my buddies choppy, this is a huge weight off my mind. So far it just works and works well. It's also 40% cheaper!

I had absolutely horrible TWC internet back when I had an Motorola SB6141 modem. I'd have to reboot the modem daily, and would have frequent disconnects. Ever since I changed up to the SB6183, its been pretty much flawless.

    Advertised speed is 24 Mb/s down, 1 Mb/s up.

And yep, 200 is about my best ping. I hate games with dedicated servers...
