Since I've installed my R7 1700 I have no longer been able to monitor my CPU temperatures through MSI Afterburner. Meanwhile I've also updated RTSS to 7.0 beta and it's still not showing any cpu temp reading. Is it because Ryzen is not fully supported yet?
CPU temperature monitoring for it is not supported by MSI AB and no promises on supporting it in future. Everything related to low-level CPU monitoring functionality in MSI AB is bonus feature provided under no future support obligations term. Everything related to AMD CPU monitoring is a twice bonus and I don't use it in any of my test rigs.
@Unwinder First of all, thank you very much for your ongoing hardwork and support of this amazing tool. It's an integral part of my gaming experience. Without it, I couldn't use my G13 LCD for anything important. ^-^ That being said, I too would greatly apprechiate if you - at some point in the future - get around to somehow include this double bonus feature in Afterburner - Even a 10°C difference reading would help. Love this tool, really do. So thx in advance
Most likely it will be added at some point in the future, but I cannot promise anything. It would be much more simple task if AMD publish Ryzen datasheet, for now Ryzen thermal monitoring implementation require either reverse engineering or dealing with AMD and trying to get it under NDA, both ways are time consuming so I treat this task as low priority while there are more important tasks in the schedule.
