Thank you for the info. Now we know the EZUpdate software utility for flashing Bios inside windows does not work correctly and is buggy , i will write a warning on the first page so people knows. Best safer practice it's to always flash your new bios via Bios using Asus EZ flash utility and a thumb flash drive ,or Asus flashback utility using a thumb flash drive. Thanks for the heads up.

Careful with those high cfm delta fans , i ended it up in a hospital one time because of it , it cut my finger all the way down to the bone and have my finger stitch with 8 points. I have a box full of them and i only use them when i'm doing extreme overclocking. It is not recommended for daily usage beware they are very dangerous.

In my opinion just get the cheapest 8 core 16 thread Ryzen cpu 1700 now instead of waiting , for future proffness 8c 16t it's the sweet spot if you do not like to upgrade regularly , should last you for many years to come.

*** Updates for today March 6, 2017 *** - Added new Bios released - Added a warning for Asus Crosshair VI hero not to use the EZUpdate software utility for flashing Bios inside windows does not work correctly and is buggy , might brick your board - Working currently in the Overclocking guide

everyone should have a bootable jump drive these days, & asus flash utility works great. ive flashed my gpu with a windows based utility a few times, but i only risked it cos of dual BIOS. its not a smart practice in general

hahahaha chispy youre supposed to use metal fan grilles with those :D

So my board finally decided to brick in the end like it did for many others. Tbh I would stay away from it at least for now.

Go with MSI (first) or Gigabyte (second), heck even Asrock looks to behave better! I'm shore ASUS is a very neat build (hardware wise) but the software department is a joke!

Always used ASRock before so it's probably going to be one of theirs or I'll try Gigabyte. Kinda depends on the availability.

Wait for reviews of 6 core and 4 core Ryzen before you buy - I think I've read reviews of 8 core Ryzen not really being any faster and sometimes slower than overclocked i7-2600K@4.5Ghz for gaming.

For those who might be interested on using Ryzen with W7 or 8:

i´ve just been in an online support chat from Microsoft where i asked if there was any kind of problem with installing W7 on a Ryzen system with an Asus board and the answer was that there´s no problem because Ryzen is supported on W7, like the Asus Crosshair 6 Hero, and should work without any problem. Very different from their official stance...

For me this is good news because i want to continue to use W7 and i´m considering a 1700.

Don´t know if anyone here is running W7/8.1 with Ryzen can confirm this.

The whole video makes zero sense. I do love his strong Scottish accent though.

Are those, specifically memory and gaming tweaks good for me too? Poolsize, etc..

This is how I have it atm, I remember tweaking this once..

Ya I mentioned it earlier in thread, but Win7 works but you have to slipstream USB drivers for windows install & Win8.1 supports natively.

This is pretty interesting. 1700 oc performance is basically equal to 1800x oc.
