I suppose it raises the question of just how much time should you spend gaming without a break? Sitting down for that amount of time can never be good for anyone.
22 hours of nonstop gaming is not healthy, but it wont kill you. If it does, your health was broken to begin with. And anything could have killed you. There is absolutely nothing life-threatening in 22 hours of sitting.
I think this is just a incident. He went outside to have a smoke and he died. He didnt game for 22 hrs straight. he had breaks and was also chatting with the chat. Its a sad way to go though. RIP
Wow he was low energy. I remember some Koreans dying after playing StarCraft continuously for a whole ****ing week lol. Must've taken cocaine or whatever to last that long and it ****ed him up.
Sitting in one place for very long periods of time can cause blood clots in the legs, also called Deep vein thrombosis. People have died on long haul flights because they were sitting in one place for 12 hours or longer.
No. They died because they have been ****ed up to begin with. Trust me. My gaming tag is Dr. House, and I am a self taught surgeon.
OTOH what can happen during long flights is... being forced to stay in one place can cause all kinds of negative psycho-physical reactions, panic, anxiety, high blood pressure/heart rate etc which can exacerbate any pre-existing condition.
As i understand, he was a heavy drinker and a chain smoker. Also before his death he did several days of 18-20+ hours gaming marathons before the 24 hours stream. My guess his heart could not take it and gave up.
I too don't think that sitting he died because of a long streaming session. What killed him was an unhealthy life to begin with, as he was a drinker, smoker, and had long hours of not doing anything phsyical is what killed him, not a twitch stream. If most of us would do such a stream right now it'd be tough, but hardly anyone would die because of that. Do it for years and the story might have a different end.
Probably. Its not like he was 100% healthy and gaming "killed him". Even i had 18h straight gaming sessions.
Again like the AMD/Nvida thing, other factors would have played heavily in this, hell if this were down solely to sitting about at computers and console for large lengths of time then 3dguru would have shut down years ago due to all it's members dropping dead onto thier keybo#PIpi;okp09iop#PPPPPPPPOouuohuo9ihou9ihou9huo9ihuoihuo9ihuo9ihuo
Also those gamers who die from gaming 48-72hrs or more straight have no good food of any kind just junk food and either Pop/soda or even energy drinks. Also it wasn't just gaming that killed this particular individual he was smoking and drinking alcohol as well over several days of 20+ hrs.
You have massively obese people who sit/lie for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week stuffing their face with crap staring at a screen, and don't die in 24-48 hours Unlikely having a controller/keyboard in their hands made any difference, just pot luck, it was their turn
This. Followed by Anita Sacastical conflating it with online porn and that men should be banned from watching it.
All the more reason for gamers to lift and do cardio. You'll never realize how weak you truly are until you do.
