Reporting back on temps on my single R9 390 (other gpu comes back tomorrow from RMA)

Gpu Core and both VRM temps are already lower without chill enabled.

My VRM temps are around 10 to 15 degrees lower across the board, while the core temp is down a few degrees even under load.

Chill ekks out a few more degrees lower for me.

3dmark scores and FPS were the nearly identical with or without chill enabled.

    score without chill enabled: http://www.3dmark.com/fs/11014959

    Score with chill enabled: http://www.3dmark.com/fs/11015026

Power efficiency off for both tests.

Compartive bases scores from 16.11.5 drivers at the same settings: http://www.3dmark.com/fs/10987107

From what I've used of it so far I'm liking it, didn't install the "DVR" thing though as I'm keeping MSI Afterburner but Wattman almost fully replaces the need for it's hardware functionality for what I use it for so it's back to being primarily a framerate overlay and screenshot utility.

Wattman does not allow for changing HBM clock speeds though but besides that I'm fairly set, voltage for the various power states can be adjusted as can fan RPM and temperature thresholds along with core clock speeds.
    (Chill is also disabled.)

Quite a few changes with this driver, probably a good idea to do a clean install (Installer actually allows for such a setup directly now although I do not know how good it is.) in order to get rid of any redundant files from older drivers. (The Catalyst Install Manager thing is almost completely replaced for one thing.)

Looks like the bios signature check is back, with a modified bios the driver won't load. :cussing:

Chill only works with some games, i quickly tried it with overwatch in the menu with chill on you get 50-60fps instead of 100+.
Don't forget to enable it and choose the hotkey for Chill in the wattman settings so you can enable and disabled it istantly in game.

ReLive, looks like i can't get the audio to work in the recorded videos, in the settings of relive for audio source i do not have heaphones to select only microphone and line in, anyone else with this?

Wow that is gonna piss a lot of people off.

Not even fired up live...but one thing I just read is you need to make sure you audio and relive match in hrz. Relive can record up to 192 hz.

Can't wait to download and try these out on both my RX 480 and 390X when I get home...so far seems like just about everyone is seeing performance increases.

This is beyond stupid, really wth.

I do not see any hz setting in relive, only kbps.
Anyways it does not matter, the playback device is not here so how can it record the audio...

What does that mean in practice? I have a GCN 1.0 card.

Asder noted this driver does a bios signature check so modded bios do not work for some or all. Not sure to the extent of the various modded vbios on that.

@Asder you did mean modded VBIOS not pc bios right?

Yeah I'm using a modified bios for this GPU and no problems with the drivers so far, unsure if it's something more specific though.

    EDIT: ATIAPFXX.exe -r -sys -s test.xml comparison..

    DXX and UDX profile changes.

Early 480 drivers were bios signature locked so you could not use a modified bios with the card.
Then since 16.9.1 driver and later the signature was no longer enforced so everyone could use a custom modified bios, like editing the ram timings for free perfomance.
Now with this driver looks like the signature check is back on, the driver will not load with a modified bios.

    Yes of course video bios.

Yeah it must be polaris only.

If memory serves me right every new card was driver bios locked for a few driver releases then made unlocked, so the only thing that comes to my mind about this is that they added code for the upcoming cards and locked again the whole family (polaris).
    For polaris 12 i bet.

    What the hell? T_T Why AMD? My vBIOS is modded too... Tahiti memory timings and voltage and clock modded (undervolted and underclocked at idle). Please let this driver work ;-;

Looks like it's only for polaris cards, you should be fine.
