yeah, i noticed FPS seemed similar compared to 375.86 but, game felt real stuttery/choppy for me especially on maps like amiens.

rolling back to 375.86 completely alleviates the issue for me.

i was hoping to go back to 375.95 for dishonored 2 but, seems like i'll have to stick with the former for now

ok, I didn't think there was much change in .86>.95 other than memory bug.
I didn't try 375.95 yet, will probably wait for next as no real issues.

I have just found out how to work out the total mess what is nvidia power management causing. Powermizer, old tool what gave me peace of mind . Latest driver and this funny way of combination eliminated almost all flickering and happily able to watch 1080p@60 videos. Damn........

Funny thing is , end of the enjoyment you don't need the Powermizer :D F@ck nvidia big time. Lazy developers....

If i remember correctly , in the last session of my gaming run i had 1 or 2 flickering (which is OK for me instead of 100). Seriously ! Take a look on the power management things and build it from the ground!

there's nothing in the 375.95 drivers for dishonored, it's only in the patch notes so pascal users don't install the vram bugged previous version and flood support.

i tested 373.06 and 375.95 on my 970. no improvement.

bethesda stated there was an issue that impacts performance with 375.70 and 375.86 specifically in yesterday's update notes.

i didn't really notice much difference between 375.95 and 375.86 after the first update for dishonored 2 but, yesterday's update made the game considerably more smooth for me so i was wondering if 375.95 would help even further.

yep, I read that, hence I tested the new driver on 4 different levels in the game. not a single fps gained. the patch itself alone is what brought performance increases.

Here is a video with GTX 580 and Battlefield 1 @1080p and nearly high settings. Don't forget to add up extra 15-20 fps to the in-game fps counter since i don't have shadow player etc. I have used OBS and only CPU power to the recording.

Dishonored Beta Patch 1.2 + 375.95 definitely improved performance for me.

Did anyone get a popup as if this was an unsigned driver from windows asking if you wanted to install this driver?

Also I was getting script debugging errors on the custom options screen, it said I didn't have anything installed at all

Seems to have installed fine after all that though

Try custom driver option and then clean install/reinstall it.

for those experienced with 3dmark firestrike, would you say a 500 point difference is a margin of error or an actual performance difference? what about 300?

It's installed and works, just the installer was messed up and as if windows thought the driver was unsigned, but I don't have driver signing disabled and it still installed

    Weird bug

Can't say I'm an expert but IMO 500 points is a difference in performance already.
However still a purely theoretical difference visible only in benchmarks.

300 points is borderline margin of error.

Are you talking about the total score or GPU score btw?

500 points in total score is definitely not margin of error. 300 points in total score is definitely not margin of error either.

Around a year or so ago I had an AMD HD7970 (280X Equivalent), and it got a bump from around 7500 to 8000 in Firestrike, and honestly it was a big performance jump in games. Around 5FPS gain. Every driver after that kept that jump in performance so it was great and allowed me to wait just that extra time to save money and get myself the GTX 1070. I almost pulled the trigger and got a GTX970 I think at that time.

But yeah, if it's just the graphic score, that's different (not margin of error, but not a big difference).

Fair point, also whether 500 or 300 points is meaningful depends on the base score it's compared to.

If GanjaStar has GTX 970 as per spec then 300-500 points is a solid increase, albeit if talking about a GPU score then real world gains are quite marginal.

I'm talking about the total score. I had a discussion on the mafia 3 forum, and someone told me the classic "it's your PC", so I went to do benches to prove my rig is fine.

I got 10600ish on the first run on the system in the sig. It was strange, because I saw many people with a 11000+ scores with the same cpu and gpu combo. i checked the details, and realized all the best scores used older drivers.

So I downloaded 359.00 to compare with my 375.95 score, and behold, I got 11100.

so it seems my 970 over a span of almost a year of drivers, lost 500 points in firestrike.

That's a notable drop all right, but let's just say that moving from FireStrike 10600 to 11000ish isn't a difference between a smooth game and a jerky game ;)

Interesting though, almost makes me want to try FireStrike with an older driver too.

  19. Not sure if it is a right place but according to a guy on Xtreme Forums, fully working Pascal BIOS editor should be released in December.

359.00 got a score of 2775 In Timespy @4k. stock clocks

    With 375.95 I got a score of 2941 @ 4K In Timespy. stock clocks

So no older drivers do not provide higher performance.
