IMO the 1050 and 1050Ti are both completely pointless graphics cards. If you're a gamer you'll know from past benchmarks that the gaming cards are 1060, 1070, 1080, Titan XP for this generation. Anything lower than the 1060 and you just won't get those nice +60 frames per second.

Some might argue that these cards are for gamers on a budget. I disagree. There's a name for people who want to game on a budget - they're called Console Gamers. Might as well just buy an XboxOne or PS4 if you don't want to shell out for gaming PC that can actually give you a decent gaming experience.

That is the most ridiculous, most pretentious thing I've read all day.

I can't believe people like this exist.

Can you play DOTA / LoL / WoW / CS and plenty of other extremely popular desktop-exclusive games on console?
    Nope.

Can you play them at 60+ fps using these budget cards?
    Yes.

    Case closed.

People are comparing the 1050/ti to the wrong cards. It goes up against the RX460 where it handily kicks its butt.

So it´s ok to get crappy upgrades on brand new nodes as long as the price is right?, might be good for you, not for me, seriously to get a couple more of fps out of the box in witcher 3 is a joke, isn´t even worth the gas lmao.

The Ti should have been priced about $30 less, and the regular about $20 less.

More people are on budget,no more cares (except this site or enthusiasts) about Titan X or Gtx 1070/1080.

On budget RX 470 4GB or Gtx 1060 3 GB are best buy.

Gtx 1050 TI is no no,the cut of shaders/CUDAs is too damn high.
This bench is about Gtx 1050 vs Gtx 950,not Gtx 750TI. :)

Agent-A01 noticed it, and it's true.

Nvidia released 4 GPUs covering everything from laptops to supercomputers, while AMD released 2 GPUs and is picking up budget market leftovers.

RX 460 is in such a bad spot that in order to check 1050 Ti, AMD has to use chip almost twice the area of GP107(1050/Ti), albeit cut and decently faster(RX 470).

The GTX 1050 2GB(€125-150) and GTX 1050Ti 4GB(€150-180) have just a €25-30 difference in general between different models.

All in all, those who do not need more horsepower or are in really strict budgets, these cards(well, the GTX 1050Ti atleast) pack a good punch for their categories.

Thank you HH for another in-depth review of another new product!

Thats what I said long ago. Too damn cut.
I doubt Nvidia even cares about selling this 1050/Ti on desktop. Its there just to serve mobile market and workstations.

One thing to remember is this market would include the huge business price sensitive-side market for office PC's running apps like Word, Excel, etc... They are going to select the lowest priced, most efficient card capable of running these apps.

    The gap between 1050ti and 470 is big......AMD done good this time...470 kicks 1050ti butt!.....for $20 more....

Edit: I want a new card that is fast@1080p(cheap) and the 470 looks better and better.

    Hi HH,

Great article thanks for taking the time to do it.

Couple of questions I wanted to ask.

Where does the 280x 3gb slot into the list, and when you do the overclocked comparison is that comparing the others at what they OC'd at.

If not would you consider spread sheeting your past OC'd results into a table in your reviews, so we can compare roughly what they rate at there OC.?

    Don't need one

yeah does get like that thing is these cheaper cards probs sell in the bundles

their can tend to be quite a bit of elitism on here, probs sell more low end cards than they do mid high end.

shame people don't think out of the box and understand not everyone wants 200 - 1300 priced gfx card ..

back in the day i could only afford the cheapest gfx card, cpu, mobo, psu,ram and was happy just to have a PC to game on, even if the frame rates were poor i still enjoyed gaming on it ...

got to start somewhere and if ya not born into bundles of cash or got a high paid job you get what you can and get by.

TahitiXT performs similiar to TongaXT so 280X should be up there with a 380X.
