Probably not you? :nerd: From the video I list 10 uses shown and comment likely chances of players doing those things; 1. Sitting on a sofa playing on big TV - check. 2. Taking it off dock and playing it as a hand-held outside - check. 3. Playing at airport - check. 4. Playing on a plane with headphones and controller in each hand - check. 5. Playing in a car - check. 6. Playing at home with "proper" controller - check. 7. Playing with mates after game of basketball - maybe, probably not. 8. Taking it off dock and playing with friends outside - check. 9. Multi-player with 2 systems - check. 10. Using it for esports practise before tournament - not for most of us. I think only 1 of those uses (10) won't be for the vast majority. Everything else, yeah, highly possible.
For the developers AT Nintendo, sure. I'm talking about all the obscure and awesome games Nintendo Handhelds get that just wouldn't succeed on a console nowadays. Will 3rd parties make handheld-style exclusives? Bravely Default, for example, seems like a game that would never be brought to a console, but was allowed to flourish and be successful on a handheld ecosystem. Nintendo just killed that ecosystem. Nintendo's internal teams can focus on one game for one system. But that's kind of my worry. Will 3rd parties do the same? Because then, we are just basically getting a mobile console. Kiss goodbye, every handheld style awesome game that existed because of the handheld ecosystem and market. Golden Sun, Bravely Default, as discussed all Nintendo games, etc.

The 3DS is a handheld. The "NX" (before we knew what it was) was expected to be a new "proper" console. The successor to the Wii U. Something that goes against the PS4 Pro and XBox Scorpio. Now it turns out it's an android tablet with controls attached to it and HDMI output... Like, what the heck, man? People are gonna carry two portables around with them? (Smartphone/tablet and the Nintendo?) No one's gonna freaking do that. I'm afraid Nintendo will have a hard time convincing people to buy this thing.
There was already info for months that its going to be a hybrid between portable and a home console. "Like, what the heck, man? People are gonna carry two portables around with them? (Smartphone/tablet and the Nintendo?) No one's gonna freaking do that." Im already carrying a 3DS XL so this is not that much of a difference for me.
I was just hoping for a Shield 2 with a Tegra X2 considering even with having both PS4/X1 and a PC good enough for 1080p I still find myself picking up my Shield or plugging it into my TV when wanting to play a game. Depending on price I may have to consider this instead of upgrading from a Shield K1.
I like Nintendo but i just don´w know what to think about this... On one side the concept is cool because of the hybrid part but on the other side the same hybrid part compromises the rest of the console making it a little weak ( all the games look like they were from the Wii U) and stupid ( the side controllers that we can detach seem really stupid...). Personally i would have prefered a modern SNES, a cheap and simple console just made for gaming. Quite frankly, i think this is going to bomb hard, unless the console and games are cheap, and this is going to be Nintendo´s last console.
I am really thinking it might have pascal gpu instead of maxwell. If those leaked speaks are real and it will be Tegra X1 it would mean SHIELD Android TV but in Nintendos way. (I think it will be custom chip not like Tegra X1 or X2) Else tho really fun and interesting will buy none the less.
It's the Wii U all over again Oh look the Nintendo Switch is such a new concept https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sr8SbLgHkzI
Most people who've been following the NX would've seen that tbh. Nothing wrong with having some Wii U games on Switch either as it's portable.
