it seems they are doing a lot of work on the PC version

Considering the disdain they hold for the PC platform, considering their release first patch later and later policy, the PC version must have been in a terrible state.

No FPS cap is considered a feature?

    It's considered a middle finger to Mafia 3 I guess ;)

I generally dislike games published by Ubisoft but I'll be pretty impressed if they managed to release one of their open worlds in a generally good condition!

    • Stuttering/lag framerate optimization – We employed a fix that makes all controls much more responsive and less framerate-related...

= we couldn't be arsed to fix the framerate

edit: reading further through the list (btw thanks Jonas :)) some things seem legit but many entries feel like basic things reworded to sound like features.

"Detail Level - increase detail for objects"

    Revolutionary!

But omitted from that list is the Ubisoft Asset Recycling Technology (aka UART) - allows mixing and matching of assets from all Ubisoft games for truly dynamic, not to mention familiar, gameplay experience!

    :D

Ubisoft - converting bugs to features since 1986
Ubisoft - *insert your pun here*

"Full adaptation with mouse and keyboard"

Watch_Dogs was the one that showed a super cool E3 trailer but the game was something entirely different.

True, but mods made the game look extremely better.
Yeah, they make it look like a god sent gift lol!

    Can you recommend some?
I am not familiar with modding games but I really want Watch Dogs to look good on my PC, lol...

The best in my opinion is the Watch Dogs E3 Lite v2.2 (Standard Edition), which really brings a lot of improvements. There is also a thread here on guru3d about it. :)

I like your thinking but if you prefer to refer to Ubisoft as FUBARsoft, due to the generally piss poor state of their PC releases, your little acronym is even more on point. :)

^ truth be told, even with all the above, that I'm quite enjoying The Division atm and haven't really had issues with it.
Granted I bought it way after the release date ;)

Even Ubi seems to get one right every now and then.
On the other hand Division is actually more an action-RPG than a pure third-person shooter so the usual open-world-content-clutter maybe works a bit better to begin with.

Any good parts? The guys talking are putting me to sleep (which is a good thing at this hour) and the footage doesn't look all that interesting from what little I skimmed.

Whoa! Apparently Ubi is gonna... ditch towers in this game.

    http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2...es-ubisofts-towers-for-a-fresh-fun-open-world

    https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2016/10/24/watch-dogs-2-determined-to-be-fun/

While they make it sound fresh it still is the same design ultimately. But will wait and see, guess you can make a solid game already simply by fixing bad things of W_D.

But I'm not so sure I like this protagonist either. From faceless, gruff and boring to possibly obnoxious and irritating?

How about just creating, like, a normal person for a change. Sounds to me like a novelty these days.

Aiden in the first Watch_Dogs was a joyless tool. Boring, bland and a horrible lead character.
Problem is, this kid in WD2 so far has come across like a douche. That type of guy who thinks he's really cool and fun, but just annoys everyone who's around him.
