Yeah it was there. Installed them, though I don't know if they do anything to anyone else but crossfire users.

Yes, the jump in performance is significant.

Although I wasn't aware of the whole Power Efficiency toggle in Radeon Settings that was making the core clock of Fiji GPUs bounce around like crazy, so my absolute first experience with the card wasn't all that great, I had stuttering in BF1 (which is why I started the thread here).

After disabling that, I've had a smooth experience so far.

Haven't used it all that much though to be perfectly honest, I've been swamped with work.

Crashes when exiting a game would be one step below the lowest priority for pretty much everyone.

I recently upgraded to a R9 Fury and I now have the Power Efficiency option available.

Can someone give me a summary of the Pros/Cons of that feature?
I made a search but didn't find much (it seems to be a possible cause of stuttering maybe?).

So this is the driver i was talking about 2 days ago

It really boost my Fury (TR DX12, AC:U & AC:S, WD with MOD)
    Great performance !

I will Play more and share my experience, but so far so good.

    Pro's:

You save power when gpu lowers clocks when performance is already capped, and card don't need to run at max clocks.

    Con's:

Someone have claimed to have stuttering when card is bouncing clocks up and down all the time. (I personally don't notice any difference in them). Card running 800MHz @ 100% is as fast as card running 1000Mhz @ 80%. No stuttering for me (even it's possible).

There is no right or wrong option to go with.

These drivers seem to be WDDM 2.1 drivers.

Yes, I see there is WDDM 2.1 on my HD7870
Btw. Intresting, I see they add to the instalation package Aplication Profiles, with wasn't avaible in any prevously drivers
Is this kind of new stuff such as the AMD CAP long time ago?

I would like AMD to make a Linux driver also. There is not a single working one for the new ubuntu/mint. Latest 15.12 is dated 12/18/2015, does not work, crashes OS instantly.

That's how the api overhead feature test works, it increases draw calls per frame until the fps reaches 30ish fps. The number of draw calls itself is what counts.

Lol. Dat 1Mhz :nerd: Yeah, pretty big jump. I noticed the drop when drivers switched branch 16.200 to 16.300.

Those values and increase (or maybe even drop, who knows) will vary from system to system tho, this test is really only useful for single system changes comparison.

Guys, a question for you: what are the "Application Profiles" that appears in the installation menu of this driver version?

On Assetto Corsa (DX11) I'm very CPU bound with aging PhIIs, and there was an interesting change with these drivers that I can consistently repeat on its internal benchmark. Min fps went from ~23 to 47-53fps during some instant dip at the start of it, while the overall avg only went from 93 to ~96fps (max fps remain equal).

Edit: Oh and yeah, UVD clocks stuck bug also here on a HD7870.

There is work going on for GPU Pro driver. Still beta, but now also GCN 1.1/2.0 (Hawaii) is supported.
Lots of open source stuff from AMD will get into the Linux kernel, that's a good thing.

From my experience, you can also totally forget gaming with Linux when you have a Nvidia GPU because OpenGL renderers of games are just terrible.
It will be better once there's Vulkan (e.g. announced for Crynengine 5.3 for October).

For me, dx11 overhead test is same as before.
