Well, some people say they wouldn't notice the stutter. Hard to believe, but each to their own.

Can't say anything negative about Nvidia's driver limiter, though. Frametimes in Frostbite (perfoverlay.drawgraph 1) look and feel absolutely fine and it was working well with Gsync when I had such a display.

Edit: However, it might be a good idea to set energy profile to maximum performance in the driver. GPU's downclocking caused by fps limit seems to be able to cause some temporary drops which aren't there without fps-cap.

RTSSs' limiter always seemed to put an extra load in one of my early cores … :3eyes:

I hard about that, I think I saw it too by Stalker, but only in menu..

Dunno, I remember nv fps to be really bad back in the days, then around r340 or r350 it got a lot better, then somemore around r361 or r367 but still not it if you want 100% stable 60fps like by RTSS or Dx tory.

    So...

In conclusion, NVidia messed up frame limiter?

My question now is, how can I get MSI AB + RTSS to work with EasyAntiCheat? I tried a bunch of settings, 2D, 3D mode, stealth, hooks, nothing...

i dont see any diffrent in "smoothness" in the game video never have between the 2 What I notice is RTSS can cap at 60FPS and keep 60fps with no deviations, Nvidia Framerate limiter that inspector uses can not.

When using NV limiter v2 for 100fps, it looks like the following in Talos Principle:
I suppose the first small spikes are due to game level not being entirely cached. Apart from that, the line is very flat.

In the end, only FCAT results could tell who is better.
Until that, we can only judge subjectively. And in my impression, the NV limiter is doing a good job.

NV limiter does do it job, what one person calls stutter another might not, imo all the games I have that "have stutter" is the game it self load spooling data, and not the drivers or limiter

With NV Limiter the game that have that 59~61 deviation is just as smooth as the same game that show 60FPS all the time with RTSS.

Im not saying its totally bad, I had to use nv fps limiter in COD Ghosts MP or RTSS would somehow make the game worse - more jitter.. But its not ideal either, sometimes those small deviations make a micro jitter/jump stutter, while in the same game RTSS works fine.

To me 59.7 fps limit looked like 52fps vsync, it ain't pretty :D

I guess I wondered about this over the last several years... is there any particular reason for Nvidia not exposing frame limiter feature to general Nvidia CP ?

    by default on 372.70;

    Maximum frames allowed is 0x00000002

Frame Rate Limiter 2 Control is 0x00000008

    for maxwell users, anyone tested?

This is just the prerenderlimit option for OpenGL. At least it's meant for something with prerenderlimit. It is set to 0x00000001 when you set the value to 1 frame in Nvidia control panel.

This has nothing to do with fps-limiter, but yes, I'm always using 1 because of lowest input lag.

the framelimiter seems to be totally broken in R372 drivers :3eyes:

both, v1 and v2 can't even limit anything below refreshrate

also the maxwell mode for v2 used to lock absolute accurate flat fps, but not anymore :bang:

v2 dont lock to absolute accuracy flat fps for me, And by that i assuming you mean if it say 60 it lock to 60 and i not using the 372 branch i still on 368.22 it act exactly like the 61.8 and other wierd increments listed there.

Do you have a maxwell card and maxwell mode for v2 limiter active?

take a look at a shot from april, notice the floating point exact flat fps in the left upper corner

no kepler, gathering that means I need maxwell or better card and maxwell mode enabled in that v2 setting to get flat fps limiting back?

Orbmu, what's your refreshrate and fps-limit?
    Did you see this?

I have no problems locking fps below refreshrate, apart from the described behavior.

Btw: Profile export of current Profile Inspector 2.1.2.15 seems a bit bugged, it hardly exports any settings for a single profile. And with custom created profile, it didn't even export the exe name of the profiles linked application.
