Still better to buy a 1060 over a 980 then, seeing the 900 Series are done when it comes to Driver Optimizations.
Opposite here, GTX 1060 (zotac amp) seems to be cheaper vs reference RX 480, though final price might still change
That was somewhat weird. Blops 3 where 480 is faster then 980 and hitman where 480 is way faster then 980 does not happen in this one.
Yeah 6Gb of Vram is plenty for a non SLI supported card. Look at the 980 Ti it had 6gb of Vram and it did great at high resolutions with a single card. Granted a 1060 is no where near a 980 Ti in performance I was just using that card as an example because it was the only 6Gb card that I could think of.
Yes its fine for now but vram requirements are going up. We saw that DF test in Mirrors Edge, ultra settings eat more than 6gb vram.
Using and needing more than 6gb isn't the same thing though. Hopefully reviews leak through over the course of the day so I have stuff to read on the way home.
6 GB of VRAM is fine for a card targetting 1920x1080 in my opinion. I've only come across a handful of games that utitlise all 6 GB of my GTX 980 Ti's VRAM and I play games at 2560x1440. Obviously, more is better but I doubt many people buying a GTX 1060 are going to be complaining about a lack of video memory!
Doesn't mean I'm not expecting it. Edit: On second thought I have no idea what your post is referring to
Oh, so you edited. 650 is kinda ok, but I mean titan and stuffs like that. 300-400$ for a card is ok. In two years. But they(AMD and Nvidia) release 2 gens in a year. Why 1070 costs 550? I'm referring on the price strategy. It's increasing every year. It would be like Intel's cpus. New CPU every year with nothing new in there. That could touch GPU market. Nothing new, except new API. Useless API.
289-389€ for some 1060 here. 279-319€ for rx 480. In germany I can get RX 480 4gb for 219€ and 269 for 4gb while 1060 is 279€ Small price difference. Except for the 4gb model ofc.
